ESTABLISHING A TRAJECTORY INTO ETERNITY

voteSince I am into politics, I get emails from the local Republican politicians and Donald Trump’s campaign. They are all screaming vote at the top of their lungs, and they each giving different reasons. Their reason are generally about the here and now, not the hereafter.

After we die, what difference does it make? Remember how Hillary Clinton asked that question.

Of course, H. Clinton wanted to get as far away from that video that she and President Obama used to explain the terrorist attack. And yet there were funerals.

So is this sort of lying why we should not vote for H. Clinton, that we should vote for Donald Trump instead? No.

Why does government exist? Why do each of us exist? We all have our own beliefs, but most of us believe that after this life somehow we will continue on into eternity. Therefore, when we vote we should be considering how our vote helps us and those we love prepare for eternity.

To prepare for eternity, what kind of government do we need? What does our Lord in heaven think about government? The Bible comes at that subject basically from two different directions (Here is a good reference for finding various verses). As this article points out, What does the Bible say about government?, we are to be obedient to the governing authorities, but obedience to God comes first. As 1 Samuel 8, illustrates quite clearly, we also have some responsibility for the type of government we choose to live under. We never want to idolize our government. We always want to put our Lord in Heaven at the forefront of our existence.

We the People empower our leaders. That’s why we get the leadership we deserve. When we choose the wrong kind of leaders, we allow the wrong kind of leaders to help us establish our trajectory into eternity.

If we want the kind of leadership that will help us, our families, our friends, our neighbors, and our countrymen reach heaven in glory, then we need to choose modest and honest men and women to lead us. Big government programs won’t get us to heaven. Absurdly rosy promises from politicians won’t get anyone into heaven. What will get us into heaven is reading and studying our Bibles and practicing what it teaches. Therefore, what need from our government is a government that protects our right to live a good Christian life. What we need from our government is leadership that does not get in the way and block us when we try obey our Lord’s command to spread His Gospel.

Matthew 28:18-20 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

The reason we should not vote for Hillary Clinton is that we cannot count upon her to defend our right to freedom of religion.

As the last article indicates, who we elect to be our president will not solve the problem of religious freedom. If we want to be a free people, we each have to be committed to protecting the God-given rights of our family, friends, neighbors, and countrymen. We also have to pray. Jesus is our Shepherd. Without His help, we are lost.

Nevertheless, Jesus acts through us. We are His hands and feet. So make certain you pray and do your best to vote wisely.

Hillary !! Election year 2016

Interesting.

What is interesting about this video? It is a good summary of all the scandals related to H. Clinton.

Is the video true? Well, that is a judgment call. I remember Bill Clinton’s presidency and Hillary Clinton’s time as Secretary of State with disbelief. How did they get away with all that stuff? They did pay a lot of fines and legal bills, but they just seemed to consider those business expenses.

Anyway, here is an example. One of the accusations is that $six billion went missing in the State Department under Clinton.

The Liberal Democrat fact checkers are, of course, aggrieved that anyone would suggest such a thing.

Nevertheless, the State Department’s budget in 2012, for example, was not that large, PDF Version, FY 2012 Executive Budget Summary. So losing track of $six billion dollars over a six year period is sort of significant, State Dept. misplaced $6B under Hillary Clinton: IG report. However, I suppose that tidbit pales in comparison with the disastrous foreign policy H. Clinton put together for her boss, President Obama.

The fact is that there is no question about the fact H. Clinton lies. There is also no question about some of the charges.

  • That private email server? Why was she deliberately doing government business on that?
  • And the terrorist attack on our embassy in Benghazi, Libya. We know H. Clinton and Obama never had any business blaming the attack on some stupid video. They lied.

So I don’t know where the video gets it wrong. I just know that lady doesn’t belong in the White House.

I got it from here.

This video is a complete and honest documentary of Bill & Hillary Rodham Clinton’s political history. After watching this most informative video I am convinced Hillary Rodham Clinton is not the right choice for the American Presidency. I recall, in my lifetime, Whitewater Gate, China Gate, Travel Gate,  Cattle Gate, and a host of other criminal affairs conducted by Hillary & Bill Clinton and their close associates.  Many things of which you did not know or have forgotten is revealed in this documentation and warrants a mandatory viewing. Especially if you have not yet voted or are on the fence about who to vote for. As Christians we may not agree with either party’s moral character; but I assure you we have all sinned.  In that, then, we must look at the platform of each candidate and how Biblical each comes to our own Christian values… Only Donald J. Trump passes that…

PRESIDENTIAL PROS AND CONS: OBAMACARE

Note that President Obama starts his speech about 22 minutes into this video.

Do you still believe this guy? According to him, Obamacare is a great success and affordable. He doesn’t have a good record of telling the truth, unfortunately. Yet one of the candidates supports what Obama has done (She belongs in jail for lying, among other things.) and the other candidate doesn’t.

Hillary Clinton

According to Hillary Clinton, health care is a basic human right (from here).

That sounds great. Hence, we have a weeping, but gullible lady. What she does not see is a devil in the details. Someone has to pay for this right. When we force other people to pay for our “rights”, we have to enslave those people. That’s why there is nothing in the Constitution that says we have a basic human right to exploit other people to satisfy our own ends.

Think about it. Where do basic human rights stop? Food? Clothing? Shelter? Education? Job? A car? An Obamaphone? A fabulous vacation? Nevertheless, H. Clinton wants to build upon Obamacare.

As your president, I want to build on the progress we’ve made. I’ll do more to bring down health care costs for families, ease burdens on small businesses, and make sure consumers have the choices they deserve. And frankly, it is finally time for us to deal with the skyrocketing out-of-pocket health costs, and particularly runaway prescription drug prices. (continued here)

Donald Trump

With respect to the notion that health care is a basic human right, Donald Trump is not a Conservative. Nevertheless, he recognizes that Obamacare is a disaster.

DONALD TRUMP’S VISION

To view Mr. Trump’s position, visit https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/healthcare-reform

  • Repeal and replace Obamacare with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
  • Work with Congress to create a patient-centered health care system that promotes choice, quality, and affordability.
  • Work with states to establish high-risk pools to ensure access to coverage for individuals who have not maintained continuous coverage.
  • Allow people to purchase insurance across state lines, in all 50 states, creating a dynamic market.
  • Maximize flexibility for states via block grants so that local leaders can design innovative Medicaid programs that will better serve their low-income citizens.

Analysis

Some Republicans in Virginia have fought Obamacare with surprising determination.

Unfortunately, some judges on Supreme Court contrived an excuse to find Obamacare constitutional. Therefore they allowed the expected time to happen. Obamacare is collapsing.

So what does H. Clinton propose? It is the usual Liberal Democrat solution. So that  they can fix the mess they made, she wants us to give incompetent and power mad leaders more power (see her factsheet).

DEFINING THE NATURE OF LEADERSHIP

The original starship Enterprise (from here)
The original starship Enterprise (from here)

When I was a teenager, I use to watch Star Trek. It was a great show, and I very much enjoyed it. However, in retrospect I realize some of the ideas the show promoted were awfully wrong. Why bring that up now? Well, Tony, a commenter had this to say about Hillary Clinton.

It seems to me that many here are judging Secretary Clinton by a different standard than they would ever judge a man. I think this has to do with deep seated cultural and psychological resentments that both men and women share against women who are ambitious for political power, even though such ambition is a necessary character trait for anyone, male or female, who would seek a high political office, much less for someone seeking the highest political office in the land. Men who seek and wield political power are expected to be coldly calculating and shrewdly manipulative, but when a woman does it, it is denounced as a character flaw.

For example, take the Wikileaks revelations. Stretch your imagination. Start by imagining that an adversarial foreign power hacked Trump supporters’ emails in order to influence our elections in favor of Hillary Clinton, and that the voracity of each item likely has been tampered with. Now, if you can, imagine the same emails as attributing whatever it is that is negative toward Donald Trump instead of Hillary Clinton. If the leaked item made Trump seem ambitious toward power, coldly calculating and cunningly manipulative, would you, find that to be admirable qualities for a negotiator, or at least would you give Trump a pass and explain it away. Many here have repeatedly given Trump a pass for much, much worse. So why the double standard? Why the false equivalencies? And who is really playing “identity politics” here? (from here)

That comment brought back memories of an episode from the original Star Trek series, The Enemy Within (see here, here , and here for a description). What was the basis for the plot?

After a transporter malfunction separates Kirk’s personality into two separate individuals, the captain’s evil half roams about the Enterprise like a madman while his upright opposite gradually loses his ability to command the ship due to his meek and indecisive disposition. As Spock and Scotty scramble star-trek-the-enemy-within around in a desperate effort to reunite both Captain Kirks without killing them/him in the process, Sulu and his fellow landing party members are informed that they must remain on the inhospitable surface of the planet Alfa 177 until the transporters can be repaired. (from here)

The theory presented in The Enemy Within is that in order to be a “good” leader we have to be a little evil. That is, the skill of leadership requires a certain balance between good and bad traits. At the time, it made sense. Now? Hogwash!

Consider what evil involves.  An evil person is indifferent to everyone except themselves. Everyone else exists merely as an object to be used.

What should we care about most in a leader? We should desire that that person loves God and his or her neighbor.

Matthew 22:35-40 New King James Version (NKJV)

35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

There are no evil or good halves at war within us. We are born sinners. Until we learn to love God and each other — until we do love someone besides our own self — we are wholly given to evil. Until we honor God above all else, we will succumb to temptation and do evil. Instead of serving others, we will try to use our family, friends, and neighbors for our own selfish purposes. Therefore, Jesus described a different sort of leader.

Matthew 20:25-28 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Because they loved God and their neighbors so much, Jesus’ apostles, ordinary men, were able to lead others to Christ.
