In my opinion, most everyone needs a voter guide they can trust and read about similar to the one you support before they enter a voting booth.
Most voters lack the time or interest to discern the records of an average of 25 people running for office in a community.
Time is precious when working or raising a family time in life.
Most people give up being interested after attempting to engage with to support or change politics because it is an almost impossible task to overcome and defeat an incumbent who has influence in jobs and has the vote advantage of the families, friends, and fussiness’s who depend on the incumbent for their livelihood. I learned this when I knocked doors for a candidate.
Politicians know this and that is why they will never vote to support term limits, in my opinion, which provides greater opportunity and interest for candidates to overcome and win an election.
The only incumbents that lose in local elections are the ones that are rarely caught taking kickbacks and many still get reelected even after being exposed.
Sad. Even more sad when a community has few or no objective news sources or investigative reporters which are just about extinct now, in my opinion.
