Pastor Randy has a post that some of us may find odd for a pastor, a post about making the best use of our time. Don’t Christians waste a lot of time praying? Well, praying isn’t a waste of time. Praying is taking the time to think about what God wants us to do. Praying is taking the time to think about others — what they need — and how we can help them.
Thinking before we act is in fact making good use of our time. In his post Pastor Randy exhorts us to make good use of our time. However, Pastor Randy is not urging us to act in haste, but in diligence. If we have been trifling away our time, then spending time in thought — in prayer — in reflection contemplating what our Lord would have us do — is a good way to start making better use of our time.Proverbs 21:5 New American Standard Bible

Long before the Wacky World Web, it was the U.S. Postal service that faithfully delivered the email equivalent of spam: Junk Mail. Most of them had these infamous words: Time Sensitive, Open Immediately. Oh my gosh! We better open that letter up or we are going to miss out on something absolutely fantastic; so wonderful that if we don’t open it up our lives will somehow be less fantastic and wonderful. Hopefully no one feels that way. This type of Snail Mail has a special location for it: We call it File 13. For the pitiful souls who do not know the meaning of File 13, I’ll explain it to you: It’s the trash can!
