Here is the first in a series of posts that address practical problems. What can we do to make our government work? When it comes to government, don’t most of us feel helpless?
Woe is me! I am just one small lonely voice. The problem is so big and complicated. What can I do?
We solve big problems by breaking them apart into smaller, more manageable problems. If a problem is still too big for us, we join forces with other, like-minded people. Otherwise, the only excuse we have is that we have other problems that are more important we must solve first.
So, here is a simple example. There is lots of news about inflation.

I did not read the link content. Biden doubled down on quantitative easing, the stimulus checks, the augmenting unemployment checks (so folks are motivated to sit on their (!) and not work…
Hard to see anything but hyperinflation down the road.
Check this out:
Here in the Silver State, an advertising billboard had an item from a retailer that -on top of everything else- offered a big (over 1k) sign up bonus if you applied and were hired.
Tom,
I will contact my Congressional Reps again but because they are Democrats who in my opinion are on a mission to spend as much as possible in a short of time as possible to fulfil their agendas, frankly it will fall on deaf ears.
They really do not care if they are fueling inflation by pumping excessive amounts of dollars into the economy, in my opinion. They consider it collateral damage necessary for their agendas.
Besides, inflation hurts people who have or save money more than those who do not.
What is needed is long range bipartisan planning and moderation goals to make certain not to overheat the economy and create excessive demands on goods and services with a demand push to fuel resultant inflection.
Perhaps the 2022 election restores balance in Congress is the best hope to hopefully restore fiscal sanity and responsibility in Congress by both parties.

Our big spending politicians really are heartless souls. It is not hard to believe that they really want everyone dependent upon government, no matter what the cost.
Inflation destroys the savings of ordinary wage earners. All of a sudden we find our salaries cut in value and the money we put in the bank diminishing in value. Ironically, because of our “progressive” income tax, if our employer actually does increase our pay, we may find ourselves in a higher tax bracket.
Real assets, the holdings of the rich, may inflate in value with inflation, but paper money loses it value, and ordinary wage earners may have to sell their assets to feed themselves. Therefore, even the homes of ordinary citizens may start to lose their real value because with inflation people start selling.
Of course, thanks to that social safety net we are not supposed to worry. Once we have nothing left, our glorious leaders will put us on the public dole.
