Wondering whether we are making any progress, almost all of us tend to look back. I suppose that is one reason why we celebrate the New Year. Even if we have suffered setbacks, we can celebrate an opportunity to take stock of our situation and regroup. What else is there to do in the dead of winter?
What were this blog’s most popular posts?
What search engines were referring people to Citizen Tom? Well, that changed over time. Compare year 2020 overall with the last quarter.

With respect to the year, Google provided 54.89 percent of the views.

However, with respect to the last quarter, Google provided only 38.26 percent of the views. How did that compare to 2019?

In 2019 Google provide 70.786 percent of the search engine referrals. Note also that DuckDuckgo is a lot more popular than it use to be. Any ideas as to why?
How did Citizen Tom do overall?

Obviously this is a small fry blog, but I guess some people enjoy visiting. When we have reached the gates of Hades, it is time to think about and remember whose business we should be about. That’s what we seek to do here.
Matthew 16:18 New American Standard Bible
18 And I also say to you that you are [a]Peter, and upon this [b]rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
May you have a blessed New Year! Please remember to give your time, your energy, your business, and, most of all, your love to the work of our Lord.
Congratulations, Tom! We really do like visiting you! Always something interesting to think about.
I’m pleased Google has gone down a peg. Besides spying on us and invading our privacy, their censorship went through the roof last year, and many people switched over to Duck. I ran some search engine experiments through Google who reported “no such page”, “no results” or “this page has been deemed unsafe.” So I changed browsers and search engines and suddenly I had access to the things I wanted to look at without any nanny standing over me.

I think that switching to more honorable businesses will be a constant theme for me in the coming years. I am not going to boycott anyone. Instead, I am going to do business with people I trust and respect. Google is not one of those businesses. So, whenever I see a practical alternative, I will switch. In five years, if I have my way, Google and company will be a sad memory.
Tom,
My accolades for your accomplishment of increasing the number of hits to over 50,000 on your blog along with your unpaid time and energy to tell the truth in 2020.
