Consider following excerpts from news stories in Conservative publications.

In one of two runoff Senate elections in Georgia, disturbing allegations against Democrat Raphael Warnock continue to develop. As Fox News reported last week, during his time as a senior pastor at a church-run camp in West Baltimore, Warnock and a colleague were arrested on claims of interference with an investigation into child sexual abuse in 2002.

The police report cites “uncooperative and disruptive” behavior from the pair. According to the law enforcement unit arresting Warnock and his colleague, the officers had “never encountered” resistance like Warnock’s at all.

  1. For one, the so-called liberal news-media, including The New York Times and Washington Post, are not truly liberal but rather more of a (corporate news-media) new or fake liberalism.

(One might recall the NY Times columnist who went on prime time TV to express his immense enthusiasm for American troops invading Iraq in 2003.)

Also, what is one supposed to think of mainstream newspapers that, in this day and age of morbidly mass pollution, formally suggest that Earth Day is or may be outdated?

  2. In an interview by the online National Observer with renowned American author and linguistic/cognitive scientist Noam Chomsky, in which he noted worrisome inconsistencies by what are often perceived as “the liberal media”:

Although there are stories published about manmade global warming, “it’s as if … there’s a kind of a tunnel vision — the science reporters are occasionally saying ‘look, this is a catastrophe,’ but then the regular [non-environmental pro-fossil fuel] coverage simply disregards it.”

Then there was the unsigned editorial that a local community newspaper, The Surrey Now-Leader, printed just before Earth Day 2017, titled “Earth Day in need of a facelift”.

Varied lengths of the same editorial were also printed in sister-papers The Langley Times, Chilliwack Progress and Peace Arch News, though it was also run by other B.C. community newspapers, all of which are owned by news-media-mogul (and aspiring oil-refiner) David Black.

It opined that “some people would argue that [the day of environmental action] … is an anachronism”, that it should instead be a day of recognizing what we’ve societally accomplished. “And while it [has] served us well, in 2017, do we really need Earth Day anymore?”

Though in my lifetime I’ve never heard anyone suggest we’re doing so well as to render Earth Day an unneeded “anachronism”, considering the sorry state of the planet’s natural environment, it was the most irresponsible form of editorial journalism I’ve yet seen in my 32 years of newspaper consumption.

For, while some readers may dismiss it as just another opinion, there are many readers (as I once was) who may take such unsigned editorials as a seriously considered and balanced argument.

  3. Tom,

You need to be more compassionate.

Everyone will make mistakes or foolish decisions in their lifetimes .

No one is perfectespecially voters and news reporters, in my opinion.

However, the ews media in the USA is the most compassionate news reporters especially when they report or do not report mistakes of the Democrat politicians,

However, when it comes to Trump, you will need a high power microscope to find their compassion, in my opinion.

    Regards and goodwill blogging.

      Funny!

Here is an example of the news media’s “compassion”.

I don’t know anything about the two young people involved, but adult reporters should have better things things to do than messing up someone’s life over an idiotic bit of vulgarity in a juvenile video.
