IS BEING WOKE A MENTAL ILLNESS?

The Black Lives Matter movement is responsible for the widespread use of the word woke. (from here (en.wikipedia.org))

Where did the word “woke” come and what does it mean? Well, there are various theories, but there is a common thread.

Is being called “woke” a compliment? Maybe not.

Surprisingly, given the article was in Salon, Why I’m sick of “woke” culture (salon.com) provided the most interesting comment on the woke culture.

“Let’s coin a new phrase: ‘get active.’ To be ‘woke’ for most African Americans, to me, is the equivalent of ‘white guilt.’ It’s usually thrown around by the offspring of black elites, either Ivy League or prestigious HBCU grads, individuals who have no consistent ties to inner-city African American communities, where many of the issues they take pride in fighting for are simply the everyday reality for those who have no other choice but to endure.” (from here (salon.com))

Still, the author of Why I’m sick of “woke” culture  could not be bothered to mention BLM is a Marxist organization.

Think about this. BLW is a Marxist organization, and the “woke” Liberal Democrat news media cannot be bothered to take notice. Do Liberal Democrats even understand why Conservatives laugh or shake their heads when they arrogantly call themselves “woke”?

Unfortunately, most of the “woke” vote for Democrats. Most of the “woke” attend schools run by Democrats. And most of the “woke” get their news from the Liberal Democrat news media. Still don’t understand how of the “woke” can support BLW. They are not stupid. Haven’t they ever visited that organization’s website? Don’t they talk to each other? Don’t they know what it means to be a Marxist (see Marxism (investopedia.com))? I can only suppose that like the rest of us they are not as woke as they wish to believe.

God help us for we don’t seem able to help ourselves.

Are the demonstrations over? Well, the national news media’s coverage of them has diminished, anyway. Most of the news media seems to have figured out the “mostly peaceful protesters” were not making the Democrats look good, but not all politicians are that bright, NYC Black Lives Matter marches can continue despite large-event ban, de Blasio says (foxnews.com).

Anyway, do a search. See if you can find some local news reports of demonstrations.

  1. NYPD Police “Reform” bill criminalizes the safest and most effective non-violent control tactics.
    This is the opposite of reform and actually encourages violent tactics…the fewer nonviolent tactics to restrain a suspect that are available, the greater the likelihood they will need to use force.
    This doesn’t seem matter to the “woke” folks.
    Police are already resigning. I don’t know how anyone could stay on the force once this bill is passed.

      It’s strange how a “nonviolent control tactic” seems to kill people when it’s not just torturing them – remember that almost nine minutes of “I can’t breathe” nonviolence?

      Have you considered whether your unnatural overreaction might actually being exceeding the natural reaction of anger and disgust by most of us to George Floyd’s modern day public lynching? Find me a police officer who is quitting because he/she thinks that sick move was a necessary “nonviolent control” and most of us will say “God love you for your service, and please don’t let that precinct door hit you in the butt on your way out”.

      1. The last base trained the military police in employing some of the Gracie family’s tactics. The marines (I’ve been told, at any rate) are also trained in these tactics, and some army. 15:17 to Paris (the movie, based on a real life event) was a demo of one of those tactics. Back in 2017, even liberal rags like the Slate were proponents of these techniques that trained policemen to restrain culprits safely rather than having to resort to deadly force. Folks from around the globe have visited to study techniques with the (Brazillian) Gracie brothers.
        Now these tactics will be criminal. And you call this an “unnatural overreaction”. Okay. Yeah, Perhaps worrying about law enforcement officers having the ability to safely restrain people, or the concern they will leave in droves is super over-the-top.

        Find me a police officer who is quitting because he/she thinks that sick move was a necessary “nonviolent control” and most of us will say “God love you for your service, and please don’t let that precinct door hit you in the butt on your way out”.

        This is a gross misrepresentation of what I said. I never stated nor implied the technique used by the officer was justified or justifiable. It is NOT a technique I am talking about and this should be obvious.

Everything about this post (and Trump’s whole shtick) and many of the responses here are written to spark a white backlash (or a “blacklash” as Larry Wilmore coined it), a gross overreaction to what you admit was our natural reaction of pain and recognition demonstrated in the massive popular uprisings that the public lynching of George Floyd sparked, an honest reaction of empathy and of hope for change that was long, long overdue.

          You want to pretend that because some politicians may swing a little too far in police reform, or because a few people took their frustrations out by rioting or tearing down some worthless monuments to white supremacy, or because, big surprise, some corporations are making merely symbolic gestures, or because a few scared idiots went and bought some guns that they are more likely to shoot themselves with than the rare black rioter, then Floyd’s death was nothing-to-see-here, and the national public outcry is just a big joke, or a mental illness, or best of all, an evil plot by hidden insidious forces to take down our righteous Dear Leader. Liz, if you step back from your snarky anecdotes and cute anomalies to see the 40,000 foot picture, you’d also notice that the overreaction on the Right lead by your Reality TV President is the real joke (and it’s only funny because of the painful absurdity that we think if we hit ourselves in the head long enough, our National headache will finally go away). It’s all a game of minimizing real suffering because Trump is failing, and the virus just keeps killing, it doesn’t care what cute hominem Trump calls it.

          But ok, I like snark if you really want to play that game. 😉

            The fear of what you call “idiots” makes the point. Lots of “idiots” leaving these nice cities where “a few people are taking out their frustrations” also.
            Read somewhere 20 percent (most of the higher end real estate in Minneapolis) of Minneapolis is up for sale. That was a few weeks back, I’m guessing it’s a lot worse now.

            If the folks looting and rioting really wanted to see police reform, they would be pushing for reform measures that work rather than measures the criminalize law enforcement officers who perform their dangerous jobs in a professional and skilled manner. Better training, not less training.
            While we’re at it…We can try having less crime? Maybe less drunken idiots stealing tasers from cops and shooting them at them? Better targeted policing, depending on the needs of the area. These shouldn’t be partisan issues.

            You’re trying to sound all horrified about how George Floyd was lynched, but at the same time making the case that everybody is overreacting. Then my lovely brother goes and says the Republican crazy talk right out loud and undercuts your whole argument.

            I love my brother dearly, but he hates Democrats so viscerally that if they say anything is unjustified, his default setting is to figure out how the thing was actually justified. Like a Trump, but with actual sincerity, Tom makes it so obvious that you shouldn’t believe what we all saw with own lying eyes that all your reasonable arguments just go right out the window.

The last campaign poster I put in my yard was for a Republican State Senatorial candidate (she got robbed by another Republican). My Republican Governor has walked such a fine line between trying to keep people from getting sick and dying from COVID and appeasing libaty loving, confederate flag waving, misanthropes in his own Party that I may actually have to vote for him next time.

            The problem is that you want to be on the team so badly that you have to keep owning the next crazy, incompetent thing your coach says and does. I have no problem with your criticizing Democratic kookiness – I’ll help you, if you like. But first you have to realize that in a “Who is the moray dangerously crazy?” contest, between the Dems and the Repubs, the Trumpublican Party is always going to win that dishonor hands down.

            True enough. This is a post about psychology, however, and I wasn’t trying to “accuse” anyone of anything. It was just making a psychological observation about the emotions involved in implying that your political adversaries have a psychological issues.

            Hatred is a psychological issue. Trump is a virtual catalogue of psychological pathologies. A leader’s psychological fitness and competence is always an issue, so I guess I have to ask why you brought the subject up if you didn’t want more than just a one sided discussion?

          11. Sure. I think it’s healthy to constantly examine one’s psychological motives, don’t you?

            I analyze myself as being somewhere on the autism spectrum sometimes when it comes to figuring out other people’s emotional priorities. But all in all, I’ve learned with some difficulty to just try to treat everyone with basic good will and to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m far from perfect at this. I think one’s own mental health is a lifetime project that requires one to set aside some time every day for contemplation and introspection.

            It’s hard to know about such things, but whether it’s a level of obliviousness or self knowledge or just constant surprised gratitude at my good fortunes in life, I believe I am basically happier than most people. For example, I’m very grateful for you brother and this opportunity to discuss things with you at this point in life.

            It is not all about me. God made everything and everyone. God is truth. To know the truth, we must seek His point of view. That’s why reason and logic requires us to remove “me”, “myself”, and “I”, from debate. Do I always succeed? Not one of does. Still, if you are going to attack me when I dare to disagree with you, I will strive to focus on the subject of the debate, not me or you.

            In fact, when we begin psychoanalyzing or ridiculing someone, I think we know we have lost the debate. Otherwise, why bother?

            We cannot change another person’s heart. We can only present our own side of an argument, striving when we do to put ourselves in our Makers “shoes”. Since God doesn’t need or wear shoes, we won’t succeed, but the effort will help to put us closer to the truth.

            Yeah, it’s weird. Being able to say, yes no one thinks the cops behaved correctly there, but it’s still not okay to tear things down and attack people. And we still need police so when you take away their ability to do their job that’s also not a good plan.
            I wouldn’t chalk this up to “behaving badly” of “frustration” it’s more of a civilization thing.

            Subtlety and nuance. That’s a very generous and optimistic euphemism. The Gracie family is Brazillian…as far as I know, they don’t even vote in our elections. This isn’t a partisan perspective.

            You seem to think that there are only two sides here, the rioters and the reasonable people which, very conveniently, just happens to include you and amazingly, your incredibly divisive dear leader, Donald Trump. The vast majority of people in the country empathized with George Floyd as he lay dying and calling for his Mother. Many have (myself included), through this experience, come to realize a legacy of institutionalized white supremacist racism imbedded economically, culturally and legally into our democracy, a history that goes back centuries and didn’t just suddenly end 50 some years ago when I was growing up in the Jim Crow South. I think that to fully comprehend this institutional racism and our own often unconscious implicit biases that allow us to be blind takes some actual deep systemic study and some open minded introspection rather than the dualistic approach of just figuring out how the other side is perfectly wrong just so that we can can consider ourselves and our side as perfectly right.

            We all run the spectrum of being right and being wrong and just being complicit. The Democrats, the Liberals and the massive ground swell of BLM supporters (like my daughter) who took to the streets in protest are no more completely responsible for the few people who rioted and looted than you are perfectly responsible for that sadistic cop feeling that he could publicly lynch George Floyd and get away with it (although, in a way either explicitly or implicitly, we are all complicit to differing degrees with both evils).

            In my opinion, police restraint tactics are a surface issue. From a battlefield perspective, it’s like spending all our resources arguing about and tinkering with the Rules of Engagement while purposely ignoring why we are even in a war to begin with and how we might address the causes of that war. For example, no one is even worried about what kind of choke holds get used on rich white frat boys when they get drugged up, drunk and rowdy at a posh night club in a white neighborhood. No white kid ever gets pulled over only for the infraction of driving while pale and feels that a wrong move could end his life. As a white attorney, I can get away with being a complete ass to a cop even if he pulls me over for a good reason – it’s not against the law to be disrespectful to the police and to be a complete jerk (otherwise half the white guys in the country would be in jail) but it seems to be a possible death sentence to do so if you’re a person of color.

            What are the imbedded social, historical, systemic and yes, Tom, psychological causes and the possible solutions for our racial biases? Once we figure that out and work on it, then I predict that the problem of which choke holds can be safely used will mostly be an inside baseball procedural debate.

            However, before we can even address the real underlying issues, we got to at least quit the dualism and the tribalism of who is on what team and who is a race traitor and what trite religious platitudes we can throw at each other, and instead take a close, hard in-depth look at ourselves and our society to admit our common problems of humanity as well as our peculiar national original sin, all this before we can even get to the difficult and often imperfect solutions to those problems.

            You want to lecture on maintaining Law and Order and the necessity police restraint techniques and Tom wants to preach about the hopelessness of our human nature without divine grace. Duh…. I’m not the sharpest tool in the tool box but you’re not telling me anything that I didn’t know before I went to law school or before I read my first theology treatise. Can you even see how incredulous this might appear to a black person who has lived and studied the underlying issues his/her whole life?

            I’ve just recently come to believe in the rule of law.
            Back during the other protests (Obama years….three in Ferguson, and others I’ve forgotten) I joined the chanting and sign waving crowd.
            Come to think of it, I also only started agreeing with the targeting of terrorist leaders like Soleimani after Trump was elected.

            Clearly this is institutionalized sexism.
            But I suspect there aren’t a lot of diminutive men who get beaten by police either.
            Of any race.
            If anyone is really interested in measuring comparative data for police behavior, such measures have to be made.
            My sons for example are huge.
            They aren’t likely to get beaten by policemen either…unless they look and act like thugs, and happen to be in an area where thuggery occurs. Then they’d better be polite or they might be seen as a threat. That’s the real world.

          23. One of our sons (they’re all over 6 feet) is 6′ 5” and 230ish. If bigfoot came out of the woods (or more realistically, a bear), I think that bear or big foot would pause and worry about his own safety. If he wore a hoody and skulked around the neighborhood in the dark, people would be reporting him for suspicious activity and the cops would come. This is…basically a crime free area. These arguments that take out all common sense beyond emotion are absurd. Done with this topic.

            I question your data and the bias of those who collected it. The confusion may have to do with what you mean by “targeted”. Let’s just look at the facts.

            We have almost 2.3 million people in one form or another incarcerated in this country, or about .7 percent of pur nation’s population. With only 4.4 percent of the world’s population, we therefore hold 22 percent of its prisoners. This incarceration rate has continuously increased over the years even as crime rates, including violent and property crimes, have decreased.

            Here is what a Wikipedia site said about incarceration rates of blacks:

            “A 2004 study reported that the majority of people sentenced to prison in the United States are Black, and almost one-third of Black men in their twenties are either on parole, on probation, or in prison.[54] These disproportionate levels of imprisonment have made incarceration a normalized occurrence for African-American communities. This has caused a distrust from Black individuals towards aspects of the legal system such as police, courts, and heavy sentences.[54] In 2011, more than 580,000 Black men and women were in state or federal prison.[55] Black men and women are imprisoned at higher rates compared to all other age groups, with the highest rate being Black men aged 25 to 39. In 2001, almost 17% of Black men had previously been imprisoned in comparison to 2.6% of White men. In fact most Republicans have come around to the fact that something is terribly wrong here).

            The data also show that, in our current system, poverty leads to higher incarceration rates which in turn leads to more poverty. The reasons for this are complex but also are fairly intuitive if you just think about whole communities and families trapped in this cycle.

            We also have a history going back to right after the Civil War of incarceration of black men in particular in order to control them and keep them cheap as a labor force. In this way, the cycle of poverty leading to incarceration to more poverty and so on is a continuing feature of our institutional justice system, not only a vestige of slavery or some residual bug the will soon solve itself on its own.

            Finally, as MLK realized, all poor persons (white and black) are victimized by such a system. Poor and middle class white workers are incited into accepting a brutal status quo that lowers labor values across the board by demagogues who scream “Law and Order” spark racialized fears of insecurity with overblown specters of rioting black men who are coming to steal their guns and pickup trucks, take down their rebel flags and haul away their females. (Ok, that last part was overdone to make a point, but it’s really not that far from the truth if you just listen to the rhetoric coming from Trump).

            The police don’t put people in prison. They arrest them.

            Blacks disproportionately come from single parent homes, do not learn to read and live in high crime neighborhoods. That contrasts with the 1920’s when blacks had stable families and were more likely to have jobs than whites. Then black boys grew up with their fathers in their homes.

            Remember this quote from President Ronald Reagan.

            The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help.

            That quote has proven imminently true for blacks. Ironically, many blacks fear the police even though social workers have done them far more harm.

We have a metaphor in our holiest scriptures that says that we (every man woman and child) have been in some way culpable for the enormous sin of eating a fruit of a tree that was put off limits by God.             How about this: Chicago has more murders than Iowa, therefore Chicago residents are especially targeted for prosecution.
            Or (unrelated, but similar logic): More male doctors in 1960 were guilty of malpractice, therefore male doctors are especially targeted for lawsuits.

            The data also show that, in our current system, poverty leads to higher incarceration rates which in turn leads to more poverty. The reasons for this are complex but also are fairly intuitive if you just think about whole communities and families trapped in this cycle.
            I would argue that it the only thing the data shows. Yes, there is a fatalism that comes with poverty. That’s why I’ve brought it up. Twice.

            I disagree that Christianity works that way. I don’t believe we can use Jesus’ sacrifice simply as an excuse for our sins, past, present or future, Neither can we use the sacrifices of those who fought in the Civil War.

            It’s as if our parent’s generation stole a share of a huge farm from another family, and then enslaved that family to work the land for them. Eventually some of our uncles thought that the enslavement was wrong so they fought with our other uncles. But when that costly battle was over and the brothers reconciled, they never actually gave the deprived family a full share of the house back, but instead only released the other family from enslavement so that they could work the land in a legalized caste system, a system that kept them as permanently underpaid servants. Meanwhile, our generation benefited from the proceeds of the farm and from the other family’s continued stolen labors. We were educated, took out loans, bought more property, built up equity and made our farm the largest and most powerful in the land. One day as labor became more mechanized and we didn’t need the other family as much, we finally got rid of the caste system. We said to the deprived family “you’re free now and we are even steven” . . . but really, are we?

            Redemption begins with our acknowledgment and then our atonement for what we are and what we’ve done, that includes as individuals and as one nation. Christ does not do that part for us. His sacrifice and the grace of the Holy Spirit make atonement even possible, but we have some work to do ourselves, the least of which is our acknowledgment and repentance. It’s not completely one sided.

            We are not trying to acknowledge and attempt to repair the injuries that ancient Egypt did to the Jews or that the Roman did to the enslaved peoples of the nations they conquered. Those empires have come and gone. America is very much a going concern and we are all members of that going concern. We benefit from its rights, and its wrongs. We gain rights from citizenship and we therefore owe moral responsibilities.

            Reparations? I don’t know if that is even possible, or how it could be done. I’m a pragmatist far more than I am an idealist. Why don’t we just start with an acknowledgment of truth, then we can fight about the practicalities of reconciliation?

            Why are we often so afraid of truth? You’ve said it yourself many times, even in your latest post.. It’s because truth hits our prides and fears, right where it hurts, doesn’t it?

You got to study the “but” before you get to the “for”. Are the damages connected more than just circumstantially enough to the cause to attribute legal or moral liability?

            Without the “but” of three hundred years of bondage and a hundred years of Jim Crow based upon a notion of white supremacy, would blacks have ended up in the “for” of extreme numbers stuck a cycle of incarceration and poverty? Obviously not! Did blacks somehow just land out of the sky into high crime areas of inner cities and high poverty rural areas like the Mississippi Delta or was there an unbroken historical causation, one link after another in a connected chain of oppression and deprivation based again on the concept of white supremacy and black inferiority? That history is really not in dispute, unless one has been living under a rock.

            It’s just not that hard to prove both types of causation in this case unless you just want to pretend we woke up on this planet as a complete nation yesterday and ignore our entire history. The data showing these dramatic correlations between race and incarceration, race and bad healthcare outcomes, race and poverty, race and crime, race and police brutality, that is just icing on the causation cake.

            Well, that’s absolutely true . . . if you ignore everything I’ve written here and all the other evidence to the contrary.

            Once again, it depends upon what you mean by targeted and whether one includes only police or the whole justice system.

            Black people, including the only black Republican Senator, report being pulled over or stopped and questioned by police at much higher rates than their white contemporaries. A Justice Department investigation of the Ferguson police foundi that they were essentially funding the police department by pulling over black residents for minor infractions at much higher rates compared to population than white residents. Laws that prosecuted crack cocaine distribution and use (a drug predominantly used by blacks) had much higher penalties and were much more strictly enforced per capita of abuse than those for cocaine abuse and distribution by whites. I’ve already mentioned the differences in prosecution between drug abuses and distribution against poor blacks verses the victimization of opioid abuse by rural whites and the hand slap for the doctors, manufacturers and pharmacy pushers. The statistical data on differential prosecution rates for nonviolent crimes by blacks verses whites are legion. The problem isn’t finding such statistical distinctions, it’s being overwhelmed by it.

            Finally, your argument that blacks simply commit more crime begs a question of causation that the history itself can only answer for you. Only the white supremacist would say out loud that there is something about skin pigment that makes a person morally inferior so as to be inclined toward crime (although many people think it and imply it without actually saying it out loud). Any other thinking person who lives in history knows exactly what I’ve already told you, that that cycle of poverty and crime and incarceration has a chain of causation that was purposeful and goes back over a hundred years. Look at the history of black incarceration for prison labor at Parchman in Mississippi. Look at how sharecroppers escaping North were pulled off trains by police, had their money taken and then were often returned home to work at slave labor pay or carted off to prison on trumped up charges to be sold out as prison labor.

            You didn’t learn any of that in school? Me neither. They left that part out of my Mississippi History classes. We weren’t even taught that the War of Northern Aggression was fought over slavery? There are plenty of good books coming out lately though if you’re interested. Good luck with your eventual awokening. 🤓

      Marxism killed even more millions than Hitler and still its danger is ignored. There has never been a deadlier ideology. Also, the radical Marxists in academia in the 1960s did not teach their hateful, devisive theories in secret. Their works were discussed in publications such as the Harvard Magazine.
      Those Marxists were the ones who developed the concepts of “white supremacy” and “white privelege” and who heavily influenced the BLM movement.
      Two prominent figures were Theodore W. Allen and Noel Ignatiev who called for the abolishment of the white race.
      The founders of BLM do not make any secret about the fact that they are marxists. Their goals are openly stated on the website of BLM.
      You can call it red scaring all you want but communism has killed 41 to 161 million people and it would be exceedingly stupid to not take this threat seriously. It would also be exceedingly stupid to believe that marxism has changed into something mild and harmless just because we live in the 21th and not in the 20th century.
      There is no evidence for that.
      Calling it red scaring is akin to calling the warnings of nazi threats brown scaring.

We could all use waking up a little by examining our worst ideological extremism at all ends of the political spectrum, if for no other reason than to keep us from identifying with a corrupt Putin regime and a morally cowed Russian Orthodox Church over a brave group of outrageous protest artists called “Pussy Riot“. (Didn’t their name alone give something away about their intent to shock with irreverence?). Whether one agrees with this particular riot or not, you got to admire their willingness to at least put their own skins in the game and take on a brutal tyrant.

    It seems to me that the only thing more cowardly than the Left’s “Cancel Culture” phenom Is the so-called Christian Right’s moralizing singular fixation with constantly trolling them, as if they and Antifa actually represented anything more organized or potent than adolescent angst. As if to demonstrate the height of our pathological national addiction to absurdities, when did we become such snow flakes that we imagine a band called “Pussy Riot” is part of some Deep State conspiracy to overthrow our supposedly ChristIan establishment with a dark scheme of empathetic “wokeness”. Orwell must be laughing at us from the grave.

    Yep, that’s definitely the worst threat that’s out there above our plague bunkers. In this international war against an uncaring microbe, we have nothing to fear but fear itself. . . unless of course a Pussy Riot breaks out . . . then it’s every man for himself. 😉

      I don’t have much interest in obscenity laced entertainment, but I suppose they amused Putin. He did not give them something to drink with radioactive poison in it.

      If you want to discuss Pussy Riot, take up the subject with the person who introduced it.

      I see that you’ve been obsessing about my supposed mental delusions. I’m flattered, I guess.

      I’m not sure what response I could give that would satisfy you. Let me assure you that I know the difference between Marxist/Leninist Communism, Stalinist Totalitarianism, the Nordic Welfare State, and the Oligarchic Mob run Police State with nuclear weapons that is Putinism in Russian today. Unlike other menaces past which chased doomed to fail deterministic ideologies, Putinism is not truly ideological, but instead cynically uses all the populist tools of racism, homophobia, and Russia’s unique sense of xenophobic paranoia and it’s revanchist pride at recapturing it’s lost empire (“Make Russia Great Again”) in order to manipulate the masses and maintain power. The only thing that keeps Trump from manipulating the same sort of hate screed filled ignorance (kinda like you just you have just demonstrated here) is that Trump lacks Putin’s brains, experience and competence. Trumpism is just a sad, inept wannabe Putinism. Nonetheless, Trump is still doing plenty of damage to our democracy on behalf of Putin and the modern threat of Putinism.

      Now you can put your tinfoil hat back on while I go back to living in the real world. I’ll pray for your eventual spiritual awakening in Christ. Whatever makes you happy my friend. I served in the military just to make sure you are free to peacefully chase your strange dreams, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It makes for a very colorful world. 😊

  5. When I read the title to the post my knee jerk answer was and is a resounding YES—-I know about that band IB references— one of the members, Putin had arrested— she eventually was released and went right back to her shenanigans—I think they got out of Russia—
    The more I think about our ever growing and oh so woke society I think it may not be a mental illness but more of an empty void being filled with anger—

    BLM is promoting socialism or wealth redistribution. History has recorded the numerous times when the wealth divided nations and revolution took place.

    The same scenario is now festering in the USA mainly the event or result of outsourcing manufacturing jobs and opportunities for the poor to become middle class rather than poverty and afford homes.

    Trump recognized the need and desire by voters to return jobs to but, in my opinion, his main opposition is a concentration of some very wealthy people who have made a fortune by buying for $5 an apparel for example made in a foreign sweatshop country and reselling it for $50.

    Frankly, in history, an event occurs that triggers revolution.

    Sadly, during Trump’s term he has experienced the resistance of the power groups than own the press, the death of a black man on national TV, and COVID-19.
    If he loses the next election, BLM will gain a foothold of power at the National level, in my opinion.

    The present ultra-rich will get woke when that happens. What economic event may occur as a result of the 2020 election may be an even worse event for everyone including the ultra rich.

      What I think the ultra rich want is crony capitalism. What the don’t seem to grasp is that Nazi Germany had a crony capitalist system. So does China. What the ultra rich don’t seem to understand is that in a totalitarian state they won’t even own their self.

  8. LOL! Oh dear. BLM and Marxism is nothing, being “woke” actually has a Russian connection! The word has kind of been in use for a long time in the black community, but it wasn’t until Erykah Badu came out in solidarity with the Russian rock group “Pussy Riot” in 2012 that the word “woke” really went viral and got hijacked by BLM. Pussy Riot is a Russian radical feminist punk rock group, very sexually suggestive and pro LGBT. Also, they hate Putin and Christianity. The group staged a very sexually graphic performance inside Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on February 21, 2012. So Putin threw them all in jail for hooliganism. Eventually they were released and actually went on to make a mocking MAGA video, BEFORE Trump won the election. Naturally he is pretty much portrayed as a dictator, storm trooper, nazi, and there is lots of violence as he tortures and oppresses everyone. “I can’t breathe” is another one of their songs, which also became a BLM slogan. Pussy Riot belongs to a Russian anarchist gang, not unlike our Antifa.

    I just mention all this to share the knowledge, but also because I remember when Dems where seeing Russians everywhere, blaming Russians for the election, claiming Trump had ties to Russians. I spent some time trying to tell people, like literally Russian feminists and anarchists are infiltrating American culture, influencing BLM, and Dems are too stupid to understand how they are being played and used as useful idiots in a game of psy/ops intended to take down our country. It sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory, but everything I’ve just said is pretty easy to verify and available on the Google.

    Also, we toss these terms around like “Marxism” or “anarchists,” without really understanding that the goal is not simply socialism, communism, or lawlessness, the goal is to “burn it down,” exactly as they chant. To dismantle the patriarchy, create civil unrest, and destroy America from within. I really wish people would get “woke” to that truth because it’s clearly stated in the music, memes, mission statement, and chants.

      Thanks for the additional information. Pussy Riot is definitely a mental illness. The Russian connection is weird. Frankly, I think most of them know it is not true. It is schoolyard stuff. Bullies say things about the bullied they know is not true so that everyone understands the bullied are outside the protection of the group. As adults, the bullies use the tools of the culture like music, education, and the mass media.

      As a former communist, I have to commend you. You have come closer to the truth than most on the opposing political side.
      I have only a minor correction. For the Left the only goal is, to destroy the system in order to replace it with their own system. All the nonsense about the “patriarchy”, “white supremacy”, “racism”, “LGBT and transgender”, “the oppressive traditional family”, “the environment”, “climate change” are just means to destroy the system.
      The Left does not really care about all these things. First and foremost they want to destroy the system. THAT is their primary aim. Whithout destroying the old system they connot build the new system. Same goes for the “anarchists”.
      What is the system? The system is ANY system that is NOT communism/socialism or anarchism. Whether the system is a monarchy (Tsarist Russia) or a democracy (Weimar Republic) or a constitutional republic doesn’t matter. As for the “anarchists”, anarchism works … exactly for five seconds. After that it descends into the law of the jungle, which descents further into brutal dictatorship or rule by warlords wich is precisely the thing “anarchists” profess to be opposed to. That’s why I suspect that “anarchism” is like modern feminism just another tool the communists/socialists use to bring the system down. I suspect that those “anarchists” who are rioting, looting and attacking people are just useful idiots for those who want to impose communism/socialism on America (and Europe).
