90% of the news media is owned by five big corporations. The primary reason these companies own news media outfits is to further the interests of the corporation, not to inform us. So, we cannot trust the news media. Here is an example. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has issued guidance indicating that our children should go back to school this fall. Here is the critical excerpt.
With the above principles in mind, the AAP strongly advocates that all policy considerations for the coming school year should start with a goal of having students physically present in school. The importance of inperson learning is well-documented, and there is already evidence of the negative impacts on children because of school…

I totally noticed!
Dress the kids in “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts and declare school a form of protest against systemic racism.
Problem solved!
We all know that the wuhan virus does not attack you if you protest/riot for the “right cause” regardless of lack of social distance and not wearing mask, don’t we?
@artaxes
Makes sense to Liberal Democrats, no doubt, but it would also be less expensive than a vaccine. So, they would want both.
LOL.
It’s impossible to calculate the tremendous damage done by keeping kids out of school just these past 3 months (now and in the future), any talk of keeping schools closed shouldn’t be entertained. And yet because people, especially parents, have been manipulated by our panic driven media about covid, many will remain closed next semester.
We know who gets affected most seriously by Covid yet liberal policy makers and the media continue to act as if we all suffer the same risk. It’s insane but tis our world today unfortunately.
@Tricia
All I can suggest is spreading the word. The scaremongers are suppressing the folks who are advocating a more moderate approach.
I would tend to agree with this assessment of the covid except for the fact that the newest spikes are affecting younger and younger people. I believe the virus is adaptogenic and that, soonere or later, in one or more of its mutations, it will be equally deadly for the infant as for the geriatric.
As to the dependability of the Lame Stream Media, I am a Hundred percent on board with your assessment. They serve nothing but the agenda and the bottom line of their puppetmasters. The strange part (to me) is that Americans know all this but still they hang onto their favorite talking heads in “News World.” That is some kind of defect in the American psyche as far as I am concerned.
@John
True enough, I suppose. Still, I wouldn’t worry too much. A virus is a kind of parasite. Parasites that kill or weaken their hosts limit their potential to spread from that host. That’s probably why the common cold is usual just a nuisance, and COVID-19 is a virus similar to the common cold.
Cocid19 is a NOVEL coronavirus and while it often produces symptoms similar to the common cold, it is an entirely different animal altogether and not that much is known about it yet — I believe it is cavalier to dismiss covid 19 as no more dangerous than the ordinary flu or a common cold.
@John
I have not dismissed COVID-19. When we first heard about it, I supported the shutdown. However, the only reason for the shutdown was to keep from overloading the hospitals. Now we know enough to know that the shutdown is not necessary. So I think everyone should be taking whatever precautions they think appropriate. I generally wear a mask, but I don’t see the need to tell others what they ought to do.
There are a lot of arrogant people running around out there who do not seem to have the slightest idea of what they should do — and so they do none of it to the peril of everyone else. Another reason for the shutdown was to keep people from massing together, hugging, kissing and touching each other and breathing their loud shouts and their talking and sneezing breaths upon each other … and to keep them out of the enclosed areas where the virus circulates in the air for enough distances to infect everyone in a small room … One church choir member infected 180 other members of his/her church all because of singing without as mask in a loaded congregation … but believe what you wish.
@John
Believe what you wish? You can do something else?
Our public health officials have lost a huge amount of credibility. They predicted the virus would be much worse, and they did not modify their recommendations when it was not so bad. They even said masks would not work, knowing full well that masks do work.
Many of our state officials have seized powers they don’t have. One jackass governor even said the Constitution was above his paygrade.
The news media turns everything into a partisan issue. Even when Democrat governors force nursing homes to accept patients with active COVID-19 cases, the news media defends them. Meanwhile, the news media applauds public gatherings so long as they are riots on behalf of ending so-called systemic racism, and the news media condemns Trump rallies.
The point is nobody has to be arrogant to be confused.
Who was it that said, “Just know that you are right and then go ahead?” (Or) Just do the best you can with what you have (Or) Kill them all and let God sort it out?
