Take a look at THE SNEAKY PEOPLE IN CONGRESS AND THE NEWS MEDIA ARE AT IT AGAIN. Maybe you will decide to contact your congressman today. Here is the email I sent to my congressman.
Dear Congressman Rob Wittman,
I am disappointed. Your support for the “Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act” (H.R. 1044) (https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/1044) makes me wish another Republican would run against you in 2020. I tire of hearing about Congress passing bills like H.R. 1044 when its members think no one is paying attention, and I am sadden to see you are one of the cosponsors.
Here we have an immigration system that is a wreck. You know it. Everyone knows it. So what are you doing? Letting a bunch of people into the country just so our tech industry can pay their employees less? And how are you doing it? Here is what Breitbart observed about the process.
Democrats also have kept the legislation secret — the bill has had no hearing or committee votes — and it is being quarterbacked by the immigration lawyer who helped Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer write the disastrous “Gang of Eight” amnesty in 2013.
This reeks of corruption! Republicans have to know the public would not stand for this. So why are you allowing Democrats to keep it secret? Why is the mainstream media ignoring the bill? Is it because the elites want this bill? Is it because the elites don’t care what the people think?
Congressman, please remember who you represent, the people of your district, not a bunch of greedy Silicon Valley investors.
I feel your outrage! Republicans representing the “elites”? Shocking!!!! Good thing we have “Everyman” Donald Trump to protect the downtrodden tech workers from their elite overlords! 😂
@tsalmon
Do you have any idea what you are gloating about?
These people would do the same sort of thing to replace American pilots with cheaper foreign pilots. Did you fight that? Of course you did. Are you only in favor of open borders except when your ox is being gored? Seems so.
Not “gloating”, just laughing at your naïveté.
“These people would do the same sort of thing to replace American pilots with cheaper foreign pilots. Did you fight that? Of course you did.”
Yes, and do you think the unionized pilot groups ever got any sympathy from Republicans? But now you are shocked, shocked that (mostly Democrat, very highly paid) tech engineers and knowledge workers in California (or your own DC area) are being sold out by Republicans now? Seriously?
Republicans want more porous borders. They just want it for the sake of greed. Immigrant hating is nothing more than their demagogic tool to pander outrage to the Know Nothing culture warriors. Both sides have no problem preaching one thing while lining thi pockets of their donor elites. You just figured this out?
Where was your outrage when they put us a trillion a year in debt for unpaid for wars with a tax cut that conveniently mostly benefited the Trump class? But this crony capitalism you’re mad about? 😆
@tsalmon
You call me naive, and you vote for Democrats?😯
You have no idea how positively ridiculous you sound. I vote Republican because I don’t trust politicians. The last thing I want is for politicians to have more power. Unfortunately, people like you vote for this crap.
My complaint is that Republicans are following the lead of Democrats, and you just gloated because I trusted Republicans? You did not contest my complaints about the bill or the fact this is essentially a Democrat effort. You just gloated because you actually believe the scoundrels you vote for are virtuous. Then why are the Democrats hiding this bill?
“I vote Republican because I don’t trust politicians.”
Now it all makes perfect sense. 😏
But I thought that you were trying to protect the poor highly educated liberals in the San Francisco Basin from the energetic, the affluent, the huddled masses yearning to breathe smog? You know, the wretched hoard of foreign techies from teeming over the hills into Silicon Valley? Keep up the good fight Tom. Too bad neither the victims nor the invaders nor the tech company heads nor your own untrustworthy politicians will appreciate your heroic efforts, but I do.
BTW I thought Republicans were supposed to be for merit based immigration?
@tsalmon
Sarcasm only works when there is some truth involved. That’s why yours is not working. Your comments are intended solely for ridicule and deflection, not for debate.
This bill is being executed so as to avoid debate. If they were proud of it, they would not be hiding it.
