We Americans have a real tendency to turn every holiday into an excuse for excessive drinking. St Paddy’s, Cinco De Mayo, New Years, even Christmas. I’m sure you see that the world over, but I think there is something unique to American culture that we really need to heal ourselves of. I’ll tell you if I ever get it all figured out. 🙂
St Patrick was indeed an important man. It’s too bad the day set aside to honor him has turned in to just another an excuse to party and be hung over the next day. Very sad.
Best time to give wise advice about drinking is before the first drink. Sad though that after the third drink, no one will remember the wise advice or even care..
