IT IS SAINT PATRICK’S DAY? WHEN YOU “LIVE IT UP” DON’T BLAME SAINT PATRICK!

A statesman pays the price for having imbibed beyond his capacity: Two men are sitting at a table, one man is vomiting into a bowl and the other man is holding the man’s wig to keep it from falling into the bowl of vomit. (from here)

Do you think Saint Patrick advocated drinking alcoholic beverages to improve your image?

Houston Sutton’s truck after his crash. Houston was charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter after he was involved in a wreck that killed a man in 2009. (from here)

Did Saint Patrick preach drunk driving?

(from here)

Did Saint Patrick encourage anyone to escape into alcohol addiction?

(from here)

Do you actually think you are the only one affected when you get drunk?

Then what did Saint Patrick do? Why is he justly famous? Well, before you get drunk, why don’t you find out? => St. PatrickBISHOP AND PATRON SAINT OF IRELAND.

  1. Well said, Tom.

We Americans have a real tendency to turn every holiday into an excuse for excessive drinking. St Paddy’s, Cinco De Mayo, New Years, even Christmas. I’m sure you see that the world over, but I think there is something unique to American culture that we really need to heal ourselves of. I’ll tell you if I ever get it all figured out. 🙂

  2. St Patrick was indeed an important man. It’s too bad the day set aside to honor him has turned in to just another an excuse to party and be hung over the next day. Very sad.

  3. Good Advice and Timing

Best time to give wise advice about drinking is before the first drink. Sad though that after the third drink, no one will remember the wise advice or even care..
