How is the so-called government shutdown going to work out? I don’t know. Today President Trump will make an announcement.

- Trump: ‘Major’ statement today about shutdown; aide states he’s seeking to resolve U.S. border ‘crisis’ (arkansasonline.com
What will Trump say? We can only speculate, but I am guessing the political battles will not be over after today. So here is my note to the president.
I am writing to support President Trump in his fight with the Democrats over border security. I encourage him to hang tough. He has proposed deals the Democrats could have accepted if they were serious about resolving the issue, but they prefer a porous border, one open to crime, drugs, national security issues and all.
Unfortunately, the Democrats (and Establishment Republicans) already have what they want. They created this mess, and if they did not like it, they could have changed it when they had large majorities in both the House and Senate and Obama in the White House. That indicates that to them the current situation is just fine. When somebody has what they want, where is the incentive for them to negotiate?
There is only one way to give the Democrats and Establishment Republicans an incentive to negotiate a more sensible immigration policy. That is to refuse as many illegal aliens as possible access to the United States. If a so-called government shutdown is required to get their cooperation on something as measly as a border wall, then so be it.
Here is a link to contact the president: President (Contact the White House).
Here is what Trump is asking for right now: President Donald J. Trump Calls on Congress to Secure our Borders and Protect the American People. The objective is to get the immediate problem under control. If Trump can seriously reduce the flow of illegal immigrants, he will have much more leverage to negotiate.
Check out this too: Immigration.
Keep in mind that the Democrats and Establishment Republicans don’t even seem have much incentive to change anything. Getting them to negotiate requires cutting off illegal immigration. Without Congress’ help that will be difficult. So if you want something done, support the president. Contact your congressman and Senators.

Who thinks Trump will win re-election in 2020?
Well, it sure is looking more and more like.
When will President Trump support the second amendment? All I see him do is sign more gun control into law.
Fix N.I.C.S. was part of the omnibus spending bill in early 2018 and the bumpstock ban in December 2018.
He doesn’t support 2A, I don’t support him.
@bottomlesscoffee007
You prefer Hillary Clinton or someone worst?
Nope.
Well, the market speaks and ammo is cheap.
That’s a good gauge for whether or not firearms owners perceive their right to bare arms is being threatened.
Many are asleep at the wheel. Once trump was sworn in everyone got complacent.

It is important to work with the President. The Democrats have bloated the government and half of them were just showing up for work and receiving their pay check. Now we have all of these illegal immigrants entering our country under the Democrat banner after we went to their country and risked our men/women lives in wars to defend their freedoms – so that later the Democrats/the illegals can tell us our Constitution is a living document and open to their interpretations. It is time to tell these Democrats, et al, they can go to HELL.

Your comments about cooties, lice, maybe are intended as a jest, but as the saying goes, “in jest there is truth”.
Joseph Woodfall Ebsworth:
He goes a wooing, yet the matter’s so,
He cares not much whether he speeds or no;
‘Cause City Wives and Wenches are so common,
He thinks it hard to find an honest woman.
Be n’t angry with this fellow, I protest
That many a true word hath been spoke in jest.
By degrees he layes a wager, money’s scant,
Until five shillings out; then ends his Rant.[2]
As for illegal immigrants who are not screened for health issues, if interested.

Don’t hear much about this aspect in the news, wonder why?
How many “shillings” are being put out by taxpayers on this issue, along with misery of contracting diseases?

Walter Williams is one of my favorites. Thanks for the link.
Tom,
The current saga taking place beginning this year in Washington is pathetic in my opinion.
On the lighter side, following this current saga in the news reminds me of a Shakespeare Comedy plot taking place between Trump and Pelosi “love affair.”.

Good one SW! Trump plays the shrew part perfectly.

Hah!
You comment reminds me of another Shakespeare play that links the saying “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.,”
In regards to your eyeballing Trump as the Shrew, not too certain about your “judgement of the eye.”.
Good Lord Boyet, my beauty, though but mean,
Needs not the painted flourish of your praise:
Beauty is bought by judgement of the eye,
Not utter’d by base sale of chapmen’s tongues

As an English major I do love The Bard.
“And thus I clothe my naked villainy
With odd old ends stol’n out of holy writ;
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil.”
Sounds like Trump’s announcement. Lady Coulter is sorely pissed though, and so Me thinks King Trump will be tweeting backpedals afor the new dawn breaks.
hah!
@tsalmon
What were you were asking about cooties?
Richard III had cooties too? 😉
@tsalmon
Before DDT. Before baths had become popular? Probably. I expect many illegal aliens have them too. Body lice are the real problem.
Trump at his next rally:
Trump: What are we going to build?
The crowd: A giant wall, or a slatted steel fence, or a mine field, or a nice holly shrubbery, or maybe a beaded curtain . . . ?
Trump: And who is going to pay for it?
The crowd (looking confused: We are . . .?
