What’s this about? Endorsements!
Generally, I don’t get too excited about endorsements. We expect politicians to have them. However, here are a couple of races where I think they tell us something important.
Republican: Member United States Senate, Virginia
Nick Freitas has a long list of endorsements. Senator Rand Paul has even contributed his name to an email that sends folks to this GET OUT THE VOTE web page (NOTE: If you want to contribute to the guy, I suggest you Google his website. I am always skeptical of emails, but Senator Rand Paul has endorsed Freitas.) Check out Freitas, with Support from Rand, Stumps in Loudoun Ahead of Primary (loudounnow.com).
I am now here to support Nick Freitas not because he is economically conservative or for lower taxes and balanced budgets, but because I think Nick Freitas understands that our main job, our main focus, our main interest is defending your liberty, every aspect of it,” Paul said. (from here)
By comparison, Corey Stewart has few endorsements. There is a point where that indicates that this guy is just difficult to work with.
Republican: Member House of Representatives – Virginia District 10
In Endorsement: Conservatives United Behind Shak Hill for Congress in VA-10 Republican Primary (.conservativehq.com), Richard A Viguerie observes (at the end of the article) that Shak Hill has managed to collect a long list of endorsements. These endorsements show better than anything I could say that Barbara Comstock is lying about the integrity of her opponent.
What about Comstock’s votes? Are they as liberal as Hill says they are?
While Rep. Comstock’s voting record is abysmal from the perspective of advancing the conservative agenda, what’s even worse is that she refuses to show-up in public to defend it. It’s been ages since Comstock hosted a public townhall and she even refused to participate in candidate debates during the 2016 election cycle.
In contrast to Comstock’s disappearing act, Shak Hill has been all over the District speaking and defending his policy positions and himself from the sliming that Comstock’s establishment Republican political consultants have regularly aimed at him. (from here)
If the lady refuses to answer questions about her record, what are we to think? How is Comstock going get out the Republican base and beat a Democrat if she can’t talk up her own record in a Republican Primary?
