What ruins Christmas for so many of us? It is a feeling. We feel Christmas is a time when have to do something. We have to give something great to those we love. That is a feeling insanitybytes22 has put into words. Yet as insanitybytes22 explains, before we have anything worthwhile to give, we have to receive — gratefully accept — the love and the sacrifice of our Lord.
Will insanitybytes22’s post please everyone? No. To some extent that is just the way it is. Because each of us is different, God has more that one way of touching our hearts. Therefore, for some He will use insanitybytes22. For many others, if we let Him, He will use you or even me. How? I don’t know exactly. I just know that if we love Him others will see Him through us.
Will God reach everyone? Probably not. Not even Jesus pleased every one.
Read the comments in insanitybytes22’s posts. There is always someone angered by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing we can do about that. He only told us to spread His Gospel. He told us to baptize and teach new disciples, but it is He who gives each of His disciples a new heart, not any of us.
Therefore, when Christmas morning arrives, let each of us be thankful for the gift He has given us. Let us worship Him and praise His generosity, and let us pray for those who have yet to receive Him. Let us pray they realize that before they can have anything worth giving they must open their hearts to receive.

Don’t faint.
It’s interesting, the older you get, the more you realize there is no stuff, no material gift you can ever give that is adequate, that will fix what is broken, that will supply what is needed. I stood in the middle of some stores this year, a bit lost and confused, realizing the gifts I wanted people to have could not be found on any of those shelves.
My husband, bless his heart, what token of affection could I possibly buy? There aren’t enough riches in…
