A red pill and a blue pill (from here)

What is the most powerful thing we can do to improve our lives. We can strive to become humble.

  • We can admit there is a God, and the best thing we can do is to obey Him.
  • We can admit some people have more wisdom and talent and try to follow their example.

This post is an example of the second item.

When I visited Tricia‘s blog and read her latest post, My Name is Tricia and I’m a Conservative, I was struck by two thoughts.

  • That is a great post!
  • Who is that black lady? She’s sharp!

So I decided to do a post like ‘s. First, I needed to know what else that black lady had done.

  • She has her own youtube channel, Red Pill Black.
  • Fox News, for example, has a story on her, Liberals sick of the alt-left are taking ‘the red pill’. Here is a sample.

Candace Owens, a charismatic young African American, posts commentaries on her YouTube channel whose titles seem expressly designed to make PC heads explode.

A sample: “I Don’t Care About Charlottesville, the KKK, or White Supremacy.” The commentary calls out liberal fearmongering over white supremacists. “I mean there are, what, 6,000 Klansmen left in our nation. You want me to actually process that as a legitimate fear every day when I wake up?”

Not insignificantly, her video got nearly 500,000 views and overwhelmingly enthusiastic comments. (“you rock, girl!” “this woman is awesome.”)

Here is another example of Owens work.

I am not certain what to make of either the so-called Alt-Right’s or Alt-Left’s red pill bloggers, but I don’t think the terms Alt-Right or Alt-Left mean anything, anyway. However, I do think it is a good idea to listen to other folks and test their ideas. Jesus put it this way.

Matthew 7:15-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

A Tree and Its Fruit

15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

Undoubtedly, this young lady still has much to learn, but she has obviously had the benefit of some good teachers, and she is making good use of what she has been taught. She and others like her need and deserve our prayers. The more success she has, the greater will be the tests and the trials she suffers.

  1. Thank you ,Citizen Tom. I talk a lower Plain Class, Taught threw the western public Education. Many things have been kept hidden from Some Classes. I was never taught Religion as a Child. My mother was a Single parent worked in a Steel Factory. When I was 20 ,I was taught Foot Prints in the Sand. Witch changed my beliefs I had thought my whole childhood. I have come to understand we are all one and Same. Spiritual beings Made in his like ness .But many have had there power taken from them since there birth. But I wish I had learned it 45 years earlier.

  2. Ignorant of the Truth, Well the Western (fell silly using that word but) Something most Don’t want to Admit in the Western World, in fact if you try to tell the TRUTH watch out. The West hates truth. One can not be ignorant of TRUTH if the truth is never told them.My grandparents came from deep depression, Our Parents cant teach us Something there Parents didn’t teach them. And the one room school houses were mandated education was taught for free, I,ll say know more. When you are working in the Coal mines and the Steel mills 6 and 7 days a week Swing shift Signal parent, trying to feed your family. Making $50,000 $70.000 a year take away taxes West was raised on Secrets Silents and Judgement. Got be as good as the Smiths,Do it all, Do it perfectly and look hot while your doing it .I have many regrets one is I followed in my mothers footsteps ,work your whole life time pay your dues ,and some day when you find the time. A taught lie, much like Santa Clause and the Easter bunny YOU can not find time. When your all broken down ,lost everything you paid into for 35 years. Told, Sorry you lost your Homes ,Pensions, Families all over Greed of top Bully. The real Victims are not the Bankers ,Brokers or Shareholders or Board members. The True victims are All Gods Children, The Yellow ,Pink ,black and white Children. We are All The Same and One. So the Westerns Ideal that one Class makes $50.000 a year, While AA Class makes $175.000 a year Plus free medical and paid benefits for life, sitting around a table dressed in there Sunday best. Glad its their SHAME not mine. True knowledge can set all free, but that means Know more Santa Clause & Easter Bunny, oh how the Western hate telling the Truth.

    1. The West hates truth? Until we realize we need the Truth to grow and to prosper, we all hate the Truth. The Truth does not feed our egos; the Truth reveals our Creator and His Will.

It is a bit difficult to understand what you wrote. The language is overly complex. There are also too many jumbled thoughts thrown together.

      May I recommend two models.
      1. The language in the Book of John is elegantly simple. Yet that book is deep. Even as we touch the surface, we realize there is more and more to understand. Therefore, people study the Book of John in fascination. Although the book is easily understood, there is always the reward of finding something we missed the last time we read it.
      2. “Common Sense” and “The Crisis Papers” by Thomas Paine were without rivals in the 18th Century. Paine aimed what he wrote for ordinary people. He did not condescend, but he wrote plainly, without embellishment. Even though he later rejected the Bible, strangely enough in “Common Sense” he quoted it. Obviously, Paine was familiar with the Bible. My guess is that when he wrote he imitated the authors of the Gospels, perhaps without realizing that he did so.

Why do I emphasize this? We think in words. When we keep our language simple, we find it easier to think coherently and logically. Otherwise, we find it difficult to communicate our thoughts to our self, much less another person.

  3. Great video, interesting piece. 🙂
I could go on quite a while on this subject.
I sometimes post in red pill forums (a couple of years back I participated more, now very little, and I share virtually nothing…all precautions due to my spouse’s current gig).
I’ll try to explain as succinctly as I can why, and hopefully it will tie in to the subject here.
The “red pill” is political and primarily centers around gender issues.

I think we are transitioning into a sort of existential crisis right now.
Nietzsche once proclaimed with satisfaction, “God is dead, and we have killed him, you and I!”
The existential crisis resulted in psychological trauma and a vacuum of meaning for millions.
That vacuum was filled by tribal nihilism in the form of fascism and economic utopianism in the form of communism.

Today the crisis in western society is more along the lines of “Man is dead, and we have killed him”
We are killing masculinity, a fundamental, integral part of our design.
Maleness is being deprecated and shamed, referred to as “toxic”.
I’ve heard it likened to an outdated bit of software to be rewritten for the modern world. We are currently seeing the ill effects in the form of increasing unhappiness for men and women, increasing suicide rates, broken homes and families and communities.
It isn’t enough to simply say, “Christ saves and I choose love!”
That is a platitude. Yes, Christ saves and we are granted grace through Him, and love is the most important thing but that does not set a standard for behavior.
If that were all we needed, the Bible would be one paragraph long.

The Bible explains the way we should live and it sets guidelines…but those too are dismissed in very hippiesque sounding platitudes. This is sort of part and parcel to the “tolerance” thread. Standards sometimes seem “mean” in the short term. Standards hold people accountable. When standards are lax and people throw away what is valuable we get the results we get. And then, like a nervous hiccup continue the behavior that created the bad result.

This ties into race as well. Poor standards for behavior (and an even deeper crisis in masculinity has happened in the black community) are exactly how society has transformed black culture from one with LOWER bastardy rates and FASTER income growth than white culture into one where 70+ percent of black children are born to single mothers. This has happened in a very short timeframe.

Unfortunately, many…in fact, I’ll go out on a limb and say MOST in my experience, red pill folks don’t seem to be able to compartmentalize (can’t think of a better term) very well.
They run around asserting what seems to me an overstatement of the obvious, and then throw up their hands as though now that they see it, what was once important is now meaningless.

I’d liken it to a person who takes money out of his wallet and begins shouting, “HEY! I had no idea…but, this…this stuff is paper!!” and then proceeds to burn it. Or stand up in Carnegie hall during a concert and start shouting, “HEY! This is all just noise….why are we here?”
They look at a drawing by Monet next to a five year old’s scribble and determine the five year old’s scribbles are more valuable because the image contains more graphite. And then they assert anyone who thinks the Monet is more valuable is just ignorant of the “truth”.

In a nutshell, all the things that are most valuable in life, things beyond price and more important than anything tangible that can be bought with dollars (community, family, fellowship), are now time and resource wasters.
They see, but only with side blinders that create a narrow tunnel vision.
    So they don’t understand.

    1. Just thinking further, to state it more clearly (just rereading I don’t like my use of the word platitude there).
Christ’s grace is all we need to be saved. Christ’s grace is not, however, the guideline for how to build a functioning and healthy society. The rest of the Bible offers guidelines for that. And if we ignore those guidelines, the type of environment created will result in fewer and fewer people coming to Christ in fellowship.
We’re seeing it right now in real time.

        1. Interesting comment. Can’t say I disagree with anything. The Bible is definitely a good prescription for what ails us.

Today the crisis in western society is more along the lines of “Man is dead, and we have killed him”

Given how damaging the absence of a father has become in so many American households, I can see why you have identified killing masculinity as the major problem. Still, I think it is part of a larger problem.

Because each succeeding generation has failed to properly instruct its children for almost 200 years, we have started substituting idols for the One True God. Our idols are sex, stuff, state, and self. When men and women worship sex, stuff, state, and self, they no longer choose to execute their proper roles in their families. They don’t even try to figure out what that role might be. Spouses and parents who are not there for each other and their children makes the hurt we cause each other and our children very deep and personal.

  4. Truth is forbidden in mans laws, love the girl Telling the Truth takes courage. Shame there weren’t more like her. We are all equal ,just some got a better free 1-12 grade training mandated ED. Mans world is run by Secrets ,Silents and Judgement.

      1. It’s interesting too that I linked my original post to my FB page and got crickets of a response when normally I get a pretty good read rate. It’s sad because I think people label anything remotely “racial” as nuclear and won’t go near it.

I agree with you that this woman and others like her deserve our prayers. She’s already faced Youtube censoring her stuff and I’m sure a lot more vitriol.

  5. LOL! You know I’m going to pitch a fit about red pills, Tom. That’s my thing, the foolish Red Pill cultians.

Here’s the deal about the Matrix, take the blue pill. Seriously, close your eyes, feel the music and enjoy the bubble. Even God keeps Himself cloaked in mystery for our own well being. We were not designed to know the whole truth of good and evil. That;s what happened to s in the garden of Eden and it’s been down hill ever since. Solomon for all his wisdom finally told us, it’s all just vanity, let it go.

That said however, I loved this black woman and Tricia’s post. I speak to many closeted conservatives. Half of them have no idea what they’re even looking for and many are afraid to even say it, but they aren’t a happy with what they’ve seen.

    1. I don’t think we need to take the blue pill. As you suggest, for our own protection God has already given us one. I think the problem is not in the knowing, but in having the pride to think we “know” and that everyone else is ignorant.

That said, God intended us to explore and understand as best we can. This is part of the way we worship our Creator, by trying to understand what He has made. At the risk of looking foolish, we also need to poke fun at what we perceive to be each others foibles occasionally. We do get possessed by some of the most stupid notions. The notion that blacks have anything to gain by voting for Democrats is definitely one of them. Given the coverage by the mass media and the instruction in the public schools, however, it is not difficult to understand.
