Because almost all Americans are at least cultural Christians — or because the day follows on the heels of the Winter Solstice and the nights are so long — Christmas is a time when many of us fight loneliness. Perhaps the best way to fight such loneliness is just to take the time to fondly remember those we love. The following is by Keith DeHavelle.
Christmas 2015 and Memories of my Lady Anne
Christmastime brings a gentle reflection
Of my life with my dear Lady Anne
It is clear upon any inspection
Thanks to her, I was one lucky manWe had nearly a third of a century
And were shooting to make it a half
There’s so much that my Lady has meant to me
She was reason to live, love and laugh(continued here)
Thank you for the reblog, sir. I was in a somewhat somber frame of mind in the wee hours of Christmas morning.

What a moving poem!
Mr. AOW and I are shooting for 50 years together. Now sure that we’ll make that milestone, but we have now reached the 44-years-together milestone.
Merry Christmas, Tom. And may many blessings be yours in 2016.

Congratulations! It is a worthwhile achievement, and a desirable goal. Marriage can be great stuff if you do it well, and we can help others to realize this by example. Like happiness, it is a learnable (and teachable) skill.
Best wishes.
