WHY Defend Planned Parenthood — reblogged

baby-mirrorOne of the stranger things I hear from time-to-time is the claim that men don’t have the right to say anything about abortion because it’s a woman’s body.  I have at least two problems with that.

  1. An abortion does not destroy a woman. An abortion murders a baby.
  2. To become pregnant, a woman requires a man.

The arguments used to justify abortion make feminism anti-baby and anti-male. Abortion denies the humanity and the rights of a baby. When it is obvious we need each other, abortion advocates make the absurd claim women don’t need men. Don’t intact families work? Don’t single women with children struggle? Do we really want sugar-daddy politicians raising our children. Is not their eagerness to use taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions enough evidence of how much these people really care “for the children.”

Consider the meaning of this passage.

James 1:22-25 New English Translation (NET Bible)

22 But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. 23 For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. 24 For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. 25 But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out—he will be blessed in what he does.

Until we admit our sinfulness — our pride and selfishness — we cannot learn from Bible. That’s because the first thing the Bible does is show us our true self. Before the Bible can teach us how to avoid sin, the Bible must convince we are sinners.

Therefore, I ask you, both men and women, when you read madblog‘s post, WHY Defend Planned Parenthood?, contemplate how you look in the mirror.

One thing has been made crystal clear in the wake of the videos from the Center for Medical Progress, and especially the public reactions of those who still support Planned Parenthood: the fierce dedication to the preservation of one thing: abortion.
But why? If, as I’ve been told, feminism is really not about abortion, but is simply a struggle for equal rights for everyone, why do the supporters of PPFA defend this one “right” so dogmatically, so uncompromisingly, so blindly?
Can you divorce the actions of Planned Parenthood from feminism? This is all done in the name of feminism, according to its spokespeople everywhere.
It’s time to wake up and smell the implications. They comparisons to be made to Nazi atrocities are easy, obvious…and undeniably fitting. (continued here)

    Please the above is not entirely true. Abortion can destroy the relationship between the woman and her Creator, it kills women, it can render a woman barren for the rest of her life. Without repentance, it sends women and men collaborators, doctors etc to hell.
    Abortion is a threat to the whole humanity. Lets not become assets or instruments to the devil to use to terminate destinies that God has carefully designed.
