THAT DISTRACTION IN FERGUSON, MISSOURI

Ferguson - MissouriWhen a young person dies, that is a tragedy. We consider what might have been, and we wonder why God allowed that young person to die. Because we cannot afford the luxury of weeping endlessly, most of us then move on. Even those closest to that young person finish the funeral, put the casket in a hole, cover it with dirt, set aside the pictures, end the wake, and get back to work — unless they have chosen to “party” in Ferguson, Missouri, supposedly on behalf of Michael Brown.

Why are they still “partying” in Ferguson, Missouri for Michael Brown? Have you ever watched a fight in a schoolyard? The combatants may not want to fight, but the children watching the combatants have their own agenda. For the sake of a little entertainment, do they mind if the two combatants beat each other black and blue? No. And what we have egging on the rioters in Ferguson, Missouri is far more influential than a small crowd of children in a schoolyard. We have the major corporate news media, race hustlers, and politicians including the President of the United States and his Attorney General.

Check out how the story begins in today’s USA Today.

Saturday Aug. 9

11:48 a.m. to noon – An officer responds to a call of a sick person.

11:51 a.m. – Another call comes in about a robbery at a convenience store. The dispatcher gives a description of the robber and says the suspect is walking toward the Quick Trip convenience store.

12:01 p.m. – The officer encounters Michael Brown and a friend as they walk down a street. Brown is shot to death as a result of the encounter.

12:04 p.m. – A second officer arrives on the scene followed by a supervisor one minute later. An ambulance responding to the earlier sick person call drives by and responds to assess Brown.

Sunday Aug. 10

10 a.m. – Michael Brown, 18, was unarmed, St. Louis County Police Chief Joe Belmar says in a news conference. Belmar says Brown physically assaulted the officer, and during a struggle between the two, Brown reached for the officer’s gun. One shot was fired in the car followed by other gunshots outside of the car. (continued here)

Still sounds like maybe the officer should not have shot Brown, but what was the coverage like on August 10th. NBC news has a Michael Brown Shooting webpage. They brag they have done 156 stories. Their third story (for some reason I could not find the first) begins thus:

Teen Killed by Missouri Officer After ‘Physical Confrontation’: Police

An unarmed 18-year-old Missouri man who was shot multiple times by by a cop on Saturday was involved in an altercation with the officer before being killed, police said at a news conference on Sunday.

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said Michael Brown, of Ferguson, Missouri, was struck “more than just a couple” times by gunshots fired by a Ferguson Police Department officer after a “physical confrontation” that began in a police vehicle and then spilled on to the street. The officer is now on paid administrative leave, Belmar said. The Ferguson Police Department reached out to Belmar immediately following the incident requesting that the St. Louis County Police Department launch an independent investigation, he said. (continued here)

Did NBC do its level best to suggest a police cover-up? How about CBS?

Some Ferguson, Mo., residents don’t buy cops’ story of fatal teen shooting

Residents of a St. Louis suburb were outraged Sunday after a police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager. Officials say the officer was attacked, but CBS News’ Julian Johnson reports many in the community are not satisfied with that explanation.

Angry protesters marched to the front door of the Ferguson, Mo., police department demanding answers one day after Michael Brown was shot and killed.

Police say the fatal shooting happened when the officer encountered two men on a street Saturday afternoon. They say one of the men pushed the officer back into his squad car and there was a struggle over the officer’s gun. (continued here)

The local television may have done little better.

Ferguson police shoot, kill teen

FERGUSON, Mo. – A St. Louis County teen is dead and the community is outraged after a Ferguson police officer opened fire Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 12 p.m. at the Canfield Green apartment complex. Police have not released a reason for the shooting.

Family confirmed the victim was 18-year-old Michael Brown. Officers from 15 other departments responded to the scene after a second round of gunfire rang out.

There was an uproar from bystanders around 2 p.m., and five gunshots were heard minutes later. Police have not said who fired the shots or why.

The St. Louis County NAACP has launched an investigation and asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation to intervene.

St. Louis County police are now handling the investigation.  (continued here)

Well, it appears that the alternative media is finally starting to expose the corporate news media’s inane bias. For example, The Gateway Pundit has this story.

BREAKING REPORT: Officer Darren Wilson Suffered “Orbital Blowout Fracture to Eye Socket” During Mike Brown Attack

The Gateway Pundit can now confirm from two local St. Louis sources that police Officer Darren Wilson suffered facial fractures during his confrontation with deceased 18 year-old Michael Brown. Officer Wilson clearly feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting death of Brown. This was after Michael Brown and his accomplice Dorian Johnson robbed a local Ferguson convenience store. (continued here)

And HotAir adds this.

If Brown, a big man, punched Wilson in the face while they were jawing at each other through the squad car window, that would explain why Brown took off running and why Wilson took off after him. Then again, you don’t need to imagine any physical contact between Brown and Wilson to explain that. If Wilson had said, “Hey, you’re the guy who just robbed the convenience store!”, that might have sent Brown running too.

Is there any corroborating evidence that Brown hit Wilson in the face? Yeah, sort of. If“Josie,” the now famous caller to Dana Loesch’s radio show, really is who she says she is, then Wilson himself told her that Brown punched him. (continued here)

So what happened? We don’t know. The stupid thing has gotten so political and so manipulated by race mongering politicians we may never know, but the fact is our country cannot afford to waste this much time on an almost purely local investigation. We have real national problems we should be trying to solve.

  • We have a Federal Budget that is way to large.
  • We have politicians (especially a president) who refuse to abide by the constraints imposed by our Constitution.
  • We have a foreign policy mess. Both Russia and China are bullying their neighbors, and an Islamic terrorist army is running amuck in Syria and Iraq.
  • The IRS is being used to stifle Conservative political activist organizations.
  • We an economy that is stuck in the mud.
  • We have a government-run healthcare debacle.
  • We have an election in November.
  • We have courts trying to change the definition of marriage.
  • We have a public school system that keeps getting worse.
  • And so forth.

Do I really have to list all the stuff this distraction in Ferguson, Missouri is keeping off the front page? If that is the case, please consider alternative news sources.

  1. Thanks for posting, I understand what you are saying.
Not to say what is happening is not tragic and also “planned” in Ferguson.
What is going on in Ferguson is very important, But you can tell when they are up to no good,
they drown it in media, and then they send in “paid” (I don’t know what you call them), to make the already bad situation worse. Then more media and more media and more media. More fuel and more fuel, until what they are trying to detour from passes, I see what you are saying thanks again.

  2. PS
Also until the agenda they want to bring in like “control” of something so we must “do” this or that.
Create the problem, then bring in the solution, usually it’s trying to stripe more rights meanwhile.

    1. When someone dies, we all suffer a loss. When John Donne wrote this he wrote of a tolling funeral bell.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were. Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

What the race hustlers are trying to do in Ferguson is magnify our differences, not help us live together in peace. Yet think of the absurdity. Blacks kill fifty times the number of blacks that white policemen kill, and without the police all our neighborhoods would be in turmoil. Yet just because in this instance a white policemen kills a young man (old enough to be drafted), the race hustlers have to make a stink. What the race hustlers are doing profits no one except themselves.
