Doing Dew Point Tests and Lowering Expectations

I suppose this seems like an odd thing to reblog on a Christian/political blog. So why do it? Here is post on blog that describes working at a coal-fired power plant. Those are the sort of people the Democratic Party wants to put out of business.

Power Plant Men

There were times when I was working at the Coal-Fired Power Plant in North Central Oklahoma when I wondered if there was anything that we couldn’t do.  Surrounded by True Power Plant Men I found that when we were facing a seemingly impossible task, a Power Plant Man would come up with an extremely creative solution to the problem.  One such example was during the “We’ve Got The Power” program.  I talked about this program in an early post called “Power Plant We’ve Got the Power Program” so I won’t go into detail here about the program itself.  I will just say that we broke out into teams to find creative ways to operate more efficiently, and to cut costs.

I was a team leader of our team, and looking back I must have had two criteria in mind when I picked the team members that would be…

  1. Plant Electrician’s blog is some of the oddest yet fascinating stuff on WP, Tom.
Well-written, too. My favorite post is here: http://powerplantmen.wordpress.com/2012/07/27/power-plant-spider-wars-and-bugs-in-the-basement/

But your overarching point is absolutely correct: our government is intent on putting such plants out of business, which will cause higher costs and lower supply, which will require …more dependence upon the government to “fix” the problems they created in the first place.

I swear, they’re worse than the mob.
At least with the mafia, if you pay for “protection”, for the most part they DO leave you alone.

    1. That is a wild story. We don’t usually think of a “sanitation engineer” marching off to war, but doing battle with the snakes, the bugs, the spiders and the grime is at least as old an occupation as the “world’s oldest occupation” and often more dangerous and demanding than actually marching off to war.

As spiders go, the brown recluse is dangerous.

Supposedly, the brown recluse only bites when disturbed, but how does one clean house in Oklahoma without disturbing an “Oklahoma house spider”?

Thank you for the link. I enjoyed reading the story.
