Reflections on 9/11 (via Thinking in Christ)

When reflecting on 9/11, Russ at Thinking In Christ asks the following question.

Ten years later, we need to ask: Now what? Have we,as a nation, learned the lesson? Have we grown up at all?

Sadly, my answer must be no.

Two things should have changed based on this attack. And neither of them have. (from here)

Consider how quickly our sense of unity dissipated. Why? What did we not learn that we should have learned? In the face of a common enemy, why isn’t there anything to hold us together as one people? Reflections on 9/11 suggests the answer.
