As a rule, I do not have much use for Time Magazine. I use to subscribe to Time, but years ago, I gave it up as a lost cause. The only reason I took a look at this magazine article (here) is that I saw it in the break room at work. So it cost nothing more than the time it took to look at it.

The Washington Times carried a story today about hearings be conducted by State Crime Commission’s illegal-immigration task force (here).
Federal immigration officials say they lack the resources to fulfill a proposed mandate by Virginia lawmakers to train staff at every state jail to start deportation procedures for illegal aliens.
Although it has been a while since I posted on this subject, the Power Line War over the Meadow Brook to Loudoun 500 kV Line continues unabated. In fact, as The Free Lance-Star avidly reported (here), the conflict has drawn the support of at least one big name, actor Robert Duvall. Nonetheless, other people attended the SCC hearings, and the Washington Post was kind enough to tell us about them and to say something about the issues discussed at the hearing (here).
Occasionally I go far afield and read blogs from out of the way places like Birmingham, Alabama. Thus I found myself reading about Red Team/Blue Team Politics on Teri’s Tyrades. Teri B. compares modern politicians with the Founding Fathers. Even a member of the Democratic Party finds modern politicians wanting.
