Army Lt. Gen. Ronald L. Burgess, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, disclosed new details of China’s space weapons programs last week, including information regarding China’s anti-satellite missiles and cyber warfare capabilities.
America space assets provide what military leaders would call force multipliers. Just consider this short list: more accurate weather forecasts, timely reconnaissance information, long range communications, and accurate real-time navigation via GPS. Such capabilities helped to make the United States into a global military power. Without such power, we cannot protect the international trade relationships that have made us the world's most prosperous nation.
