It’s a good argument. However, as a premise, he’s granting the left with good intentions, which I don’t. So the argument fails..

And, even granting those good intentions, how would that excuse forcing folks to work for others benevolent ideals. It’s fairly easy to be generous with stuff you don’t own.

When I thought about replying this idiom, as is my wont, I decided to do a little research.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

A Wikipedia article on the quote includes this line.

Stephen Garrard Post, writing about altruism, suggests that good intentions are often not what they seem and that mankind normally acts from less worthy, selfish motives — “If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, it is partly because that is the road they generally start out on.”

On the day we are born, only God knows our fate. Nonetheless, I doubt any human being begins life thoroughly corrupt — wholly beyond redemption. All I know is that we supply our action with motives that at least seem unselfish. God only knows the extent we ourselves believe our own excuses.

  2. Anyone who looked at Obama’s votes and speeches before the 2008 election KNEW he was all about big government. But the problem with most voters today is they leaving the vetting or lack of vetting up to the media and heresay. Or, they don’t pay attention at all.

Afraid you are correct. What is ironic about the Left is how they refer to the People as the masses. They think the masses are stupid. Yet they dumb down the education system and work for a majoritarian tyranny.
