IMMIGRATION “REFORM” AND THE PROBLEM WITH “EXPERTS”

Why does experience always make one an expert? Doesn’t repeating the same mistake over and over demonstrate something else?

Here is a link to a commentary in the Washington Times, GUTIERREZ: Immigration America’s competitive advantage. Gutierrez, the “expert,” has wonderful ideas for solving the problem, but he ignores a fundamental problem. If we cannot get our leaders to enforce the law, what is the point of reforming the law? All our political elites want is amnesty, cheap labor and ignorant people who will vote to empower politicians. By not enforcing the law, they get two out of three. If the elites get amnesty, they get everything they want. If we cannot get them to enforce the law now, how will we make them enforce the law after they have “reformed” it?

Yet, Gutierrez is willing to give away amnesty.

The president spoke about the need to legalize most of the 11 million undocumented workers in the country. Like former President George W. Bush, I support this move in the interests of national security and for economic and humanitarian reasons as part of a comprehensive reform of our immigration systems. However, this administration needs to understand that dealing with the 11 million undocumented workers does not constitute comprehensive immigration reform. The problem of illegal immigration is the result of a broken legal-immigration system. Unless we address the core issues, we will continue to foster the conditions for future illegal immigration.

Why is Gutierrez is so deluded? When a mere man becomes an “expert,” he remains a man. He remains subject to sin. That problem no amount of expertise can resolve. So for reasons of his own, Gutierrez maintains a position that cannot work.  In fact, it is so hard to make his plan work that making it work would guarantee us a competitive advantage that would last a century.

Fixing our immigration system will require leadership and vision. Again, if we get this right, it will give us a competitive advantage that will last a century.

Fortunately, not everyone is an “expert.” If you call me ignorant, I will happily agree. However, if you then insist we need a bunch of government bureaucrats running our lives and businesses, I will choke with rage and laughter. You might say I just don’t understand – I have no true standing to complain. The problems are entirely too complicated, but if we all just agree with the “experts,” would we then understand? Which experts? Whose experts?

If we are all so ignorant, what is the point of a democracy? Because there is no point to a democracy, perhaps that is one reason why the Founders gave us a republic with limited government powers.

If government exists to resolve our disputes, don’t we defeat that purpose by giving to government more power than is needful? If we give our government more to do, don’t we inevitably make it more cumbersome? If we make our government more powerful, don’t we attract more of the wrong kind of characters to run it – making that government both cumbersome and dangerous? Doesn’t powerful government just becomes another thing to fight about?

You want reform — any kind of reform? Then begin that reform by cutting government down to its proper size.

When calm, confident, and competent delivery becomes everything, one can be held up as an expert on anything.

What is referred to as te seven capital sins, including anger, are all survival tools. This lesson is also found in the Bible, the book of Ecclesiastes.

About immigration reform, this is my email to my congresspeople:

    Dear (Name)

Amnesty will grant a minimum of 11+ million non-white illegal immigrants rights superior to my children and descendants. I have, at the moment, at least five great grandchildren who will be punished by this amnesty. All eleven million non-white immigrants and their future children will gain rights superior to my family. This punishes my white children through Affirmative Action and preferences for minorities in all institutions to include universities, jobs especially in the government sector, and promotions in various careers.

First, the estimate of illegals in this country is said to be eleven million. This is the figure used in the year 2000.

We are currently helping the poor by buying his product, made in his native land, enabling him to earn his daily bread with dignity. Our national trade deficit is on its way to $1 trillion. This translates into a glob of jobs helping the poor at home.

I have enclosed a link to Pat Buchanan on this topic.

Please don’t let amnesty punish my family for the color of their skin.

    Sincerely,

Warren5874 – Thanks for the comment and for the link to the article by Pat Buchanan.

It is really sad for me, but Buchanan was also right about Jews in the SCOTUS, they represent a SMALL minority and putting now, 3 Jews on the SCOTUS that so vehemently disagree with Christianity should have NEVER been that way, EVER.

Spare yourself the grief. There is not much point in getting wrapped around the axel about the sex and ethnicity of Supreme Court appointments. That is particularly true of Obama’s appointments. He needs educated people who will serve his agenda. There are lots of well educated Jews. Unfortunately, some happen to be Democrats. So it goes.

What Conservatives must do is focus on the issues. Does religion have something to do with that? Yes, but neither Christianity or Judaism promote religious bigotry. Instead, devout Christians and Jews insist upon the rights to life, liberty, and property. And that is why socialists insist upon secularizing the public debate. If Christians and Jews examine what the Bible says and compare that with what Big Government advocates propose, they will see the inherent contradiction.

From time to time, Obama has spoken about our collective salvation, as if somehow government can save us. There is only individual salvation. Only God can save us, and He insist we choose to let Him save us.

To give inordinate power to men merely corrupts them. Thus, a powerful government serves no purpose except to enrich the people who run it.

With respect to government, we have a choice, a stark choice. We can choose to be a slave of the king of a nation, or we can be a slave to the King of the Universe. Since the former loves himself and latter seeks our salvation, the choice should be a simple one. Unfortunately, few seem to find it so. So we must pray, do what we can, and hope for the best.

Have faith. God created the universe. So it must be the best of all possible universes. Even if today seems sad, our story must have a happy ending. :-)

  7. themadjewess says:

Does religion have something to do with that?
Yes, it does, in the democrat Jew mind, it just does. They HATE Christians. Right wing Jews usually like Christians a lot, and have them as friends, but contrary to popular belief, we are not a Judeao 1st, then Christian nation 2nd. It is Christian with Judao Law.
We should always have professors of the Christian faith in office, Samuel Adams said this. I agree.
I know, I am down on my people. It is because there are only about 27% of us that are totally pro-American, and pro-Christian. I cannot help being pro-Christian, I like the New Testament ministry of Jesus a LOT :D Love it. Makes my friends insane, they wanting me to be more Jewish, but come on, look at the name on my blog! I love my people, but even God knew that they are a stiffed neck bunch.
I do really appreciate you taking the time to show your love however :D
