There is a theory (see here) presented in The Fourth Turning (by William Strauss and Neil Howe); every fourth generation civilization unravels. Then we must put things back together.
If what Strauss and Howe believe is true, then we are in the midst of an unraveling. What the video below provides is a decent theme song.

There is this great divide & it’s a power struggle between two groups in America that want the power by using you & me at the next election. We think we have a ‘choice’ but we only get to choose who is presented to us by both political parties. This is not what our forefathers wanted.
I might mention a book out that is a great read about a small town in America that stands up to both parties & united the people around the country. It’s a great read for what’s happening in America.

What I expect would have surprised our forefathers the most is that we were dumb enough to let politicians educate our children. The more we give our government to do, the harder it is to control the people who run it. We end up with so many issues to worry about, it can become very difficult to decide which issue is the one that should decide our vote.
Unfortunately, if a politician is in charge of your education, I doubt you will learn about the problems with Big Government, particularly if a teacher’s union contributes to his campaign. Instead, you will be taught that this is just the way it is suppose to be. In fact, you will learn that the government (Your government?) needs to do more.
