Today I got the following email message from a trusted friend.
Fwd: Military Fly Over Denied
Military Fly Over Denied. Unbelievable, isn’t it!!! Everyone needs to see this. I foresee many many flyovers by the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels being canceled in the next three years too. Also demonstrations by the Golden Knights and our service bands. This guy is out of control!!!
Obama denied a military flyover at the annual God and Country rally in Idaho , where new military recruits were inducted and all military were honored. This is the first time in 42 years that there has not been a military flyover in formation, and organizers were stunned that Obama refused to allow this. When the lady organizing the event contacted the Pentagon to ask why this was not allowed, as it had occurred every year for 42 years, she was told it was because of the event is of a Christian nature.
The video also mentions that when Obama made a recent speech, a cross and a Christian symbol for Jesus had to be covered first. This is beyond unbelievable action by the Commander in Chief and President, and Americans need to know about it!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, WATCH THIS BEFORE IT’S PULLEDI don’t know about your feelings on this but this is the final straw for me!
It’s time to tell him enough already!
Since skepticism is part of my nature, I checked out the story. I immediately got confirmation.

- Here is the Daily Kos post the video references.
What surprised me is that I had not already heard of the story. However, with the exception of Foxnews, the major media pretty much seems to have ignored the story. The flyover was suppose to be on 1 July 2009. The Foxnews broadcast was posted on September 2nd. So the story is an old one.

Would a flyover have been appropriate? Some say that because the event is a Christian event, even though nonsectarian, the answer is no. Nevertheless, the Constitution does not forbid religious practice. It merely forbids the establishment of religion by government. If a military flyover is all it takes to establish a religion, then we have serious problems. Fortunatedly, since these flyovers had been going on for 42 years, I think it safe to say that the flyovers did not have anything to do with establishing a religion.
What is establishing a religion in this nation is allowing our government to educate our children. Over the years, our government and many of our citizens have become more and more antagonistic to Christianity. Over the years, government employees have filled children’s heads with secular humanist nonsense. That is why the people complaining about Christianity know so little about our nation’s Christian heritage. That is also why they have so little understanding of the concept of religious freedom.
What, for example, gives anyone the freedom to deride Christianity? That freedom comes from the Christian beliefs of our nation’s founders. Because of what Christ taught, Christians believe in religious freedom. As the Declaration of Independence states, the Founders believed God endows us with our rights, and those rights include religious freedom.
There is one fact about the event that can be easily understood. The God and Country rally provides our military superb support. The event builds respect for our military and provides excellent support for its recruiting efforts. Since the Thunderbirds exist in large part to support our military’s recruitment efforts, the flyover thus served a public good. Canceling the flyover exhibited nothing more than a bigoted act of asinine stupidity.
