WHY OUR NATION IS SLOWLY GROWING MORE AND MORE ALARMED

I got the following in an email from someone I regard as serious and level-headed.  I think it well illustrates why people are slowly growing exceedingly nervous about President Obama, particularly with the support he is getting from the socialist Democrats in Congress.   In addition to the fact what President Obama and the Democrats are doing to our country is extreme, the corporate news media does such a lousy job it is hard to separate fact from fiction.

“It just doesn’t matter…”

When Obama wrote a book and said he was mentored as a youth by Frank, (Frank Marshall Davis) an avowed Communist, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When it was discovered that his grandparents were strong Socialists & sent Obama’s mother to a Socialist school, introduced Frank Marshall Davis to a young Obama, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When people found out that he was enrolled as a Muslim child in school and his father and step father were both Muslims, people said “It just doesn’t matter…” .

When he wrote in another book he authored “I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” regarding the Palestinian issue, people said “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he admittedly, in his book, said he chose Marxist friends and professors in college, people said “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he traveled to Pakistan after college on an unknown national passport, people said “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he sought the endorsement of the Marxist Party in 1996 as he ran for the Illinois Senate, people said “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he sat in a Chicago Church for twenty years and listened to a preacher spew hatred for America and preach Black Liberation Theology, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When an independent Washington organization, that tracks senate voting records, gave him the distinctive title as the “most liberal senator”, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When Palestinians in Gaza set up a fundraising telethon to raise money for his election campaign, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When his voting record supported gun control, people said it didn’t matter. When he refused to disclose who donated money to his election campaign, as other candidates had done, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he received endorsements from people like Louis Farrakhan, Muammar Kaddafi and Hugo Chavez, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When it was pointed out that he was a total, newcomer and had absolutely no experience at anything except community organizing, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he chose friends and acquaintances such as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who were revolutionary radicals, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When his voting record in the Illinois senate and in the U.S. Senate came into question, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he refused to wear a flag, lapel pin and did so only after a public outcry, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When people started treating him as a Messiah and children in schools were taught to sing his praises, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”

When he stood with his hands over his groin area for the playing of the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance, people said it didn’t matter.

When he surrounded himself in the White house with advisors who were pro gun control, pro abortion, pro homosexual marriage, anti-capitalism, anti-free markets, pro-government control over everything and wanting to curtail freedom of speech to silence the opposition, people said it didn’t matter.

When he aired his views on abortion, homosexuality and a host of other issues, people said it didn’t matter.

When he said he favors sex education in Kindergarten, including homosexual indoctrination, people said it didn’t matter.

When his background was either scrubbed or hidden and nothing could be found about him, people said it didn’t matter.

When his first act as President, literally within 5 minutes of taking office, he signed executive order #13489 that sealed his own records, people said it didn’t matter.

When the place of his birth was called into question, and he refused to produce a birth certificate, and continues to spend millions in court to keep the material sealed, people said it didn’t matter.

When he had an association in Chicago with Tony Rezko, a man of questionable character, who is now in prison and had helped Obama to a sweet deal on the purchase of his home, people said it didn’t matter.

When it became known that George Soros, a multi-billionaire Marxist, spent a ton of money to get him elected, people said it didn’t matter.

When he started appointing czars that were radicals, revolutionaries, and even avowed Marxists and Communists, people said it didn’t matter.

When he stood before the nation and told us that his intentions were to “fundamentally transform this nation” into something else, people said it didn’t matter.

When it became known that he had trained ACORN workers in Chicago and served as an attorney for ACORN, people said it didn’t matter. When he appointed a cabinet members and several advisors who were tax cheats and Socialist, people said it didn’t matter.

When he appointed a science czar, John Holdren, who believes in forced abortions, mass sterilizations and seizing babies from teen mothers, people said it didn’t matter.

When he appointed Cass Sunstein as regulatory czar and he believes in “Explicit Consent”, harvesting human organs without family consent, and to allow animals to be represented in court, while banning all hunting, people said it didn’t matter.

When he appointed Kevin Jennings, an overt homosexual, and organizer of a group called gay, lesbian, straight, education network, as safe school czar and it became known that he had a history of bad advice to teenagers, people said it didn’t matter.

When he appointed Mark Lloyd as diversity czar and he believed in curtailing free speech, taking from one and giving to another to spread the wealth and admires Hugo Chavez, people said it didn’t matter.

When Valerie Jarrett was selected as Obama’s senior White House advisor and she’s an avowed Socialist, people said it didn’t matter.

When Anita Dunn, White House Communications director said Mao Tse-Tung was her favorite philosopher and the person she turned to most for inspiration, people said it didn’t matter.

When he appointed Carol Browner as global warming czar, and she is a well known socialist working on ‘Cap and Trade’ as the nation’s largest tax hike in history, people said it doesn’t matter.

When he appointed Van Jones, an ex-con and avowed Communist as green energy czar, who since had to resign when this was made known, people said it didn’t matter.

When Tom Daschle, Obama’s pick for health and human services secretary could not be confirmed, because he was a tax cheat, people said it didn’t matter. When as president of the United States, he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, people said it didn’t matter.

When he traveled around the world criticizing America and never once talking of her greatness, people said it didn’t matter.

When his actions concerning the middle-east seemed to support the Palestinians over Israel, our long time friend, people said it doesn’t matter.

When he played politics in Afghanistan by not sending troops the Field Commanders said we had to have to win, people said it didn’t matter. When he started spending us into a debt that was so big we could not pay it off, people said it didn’t matter.

When he took a huge spending bill under the guise of stimulus and used it to pay off organizations, unions and individuals that got him elected, people said it didn’t matter.

When he forced the takeover of insurance companies, car companies, banks, etc, people said it didn’t matter.

When he took away student loans from the banks and put it through the government, people said it didn’t matter.

When he designed plans to take over the health care system and put it under government control, people said it didn’t matter.

When he set into motion a plan to take over the control of all energy resources in the United States through Cap and Trade, people said it didn’t matter.

When he announced he was returning the masterminds of 9/11 to New York City to stand trial as ordinary criminals — not war criminals — and thus allow them the benefits from our system of jurisprudence, the mainstream media loved it and the people said it didn’t matter.

(Oh really? Go ask an FDNY FF, NYPD Cop, NY EMS, NY Port Authority Cop or Transit Worker, or a 9/11 Families member who was at the World Trade Center 9/11/2001 and see if it matters!!!)

When he finally completed his transformation of America into a Socialist State, people finally woke up, but it was too late as Obama is determined to make America over into a Marxist/Socialist society.

All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily.

If you are an Obama Supporter, please recognize that you have elected a president who is a ’socialist’. There is simply no debate about these facts..

We all must pull together or watch the demise of a society that we all love and cherish. If you are a religious person, pray for our nation.

Never before in the history of America have we been confronted with problems so huge that the very existence of our country is in jeopardy.

Please, find the truth, it will set you free. Our biggest enemy is not China, Russia or Iran; no, our biggest enemy is the current contingent of politicians in Washington DC led by the Progressive Left Liberals who support the previously mentioned things.

Wake Up America! There’s still time in 2010 to take back America and send a message LOUD and CLEAR to those who think , “It just doesn’t matter…”

I happen to think “it does matter.”

This website, The Fundamental Transformation of America, is apparently the original source for the diatribe above.  How did the author’s name get separated from his article.  I do not know.

Is every assertion in this email or Matt Bruce’s article true?  No.  The issue over the birth certificate, for example, appears to be a farce (see here).  So is the tripe about Obama standing with Muslims (see here).   Nonetheless, I know quite a few of the charges are true enough.   During the last presidential election, I did this post, PRESIDENTIAL PROS AND CONS: BARACK OBAMA — Updated 26 Oct 2008.  Admittedly, I have not maintained the links, and some news articles I referenced, for example, have disappeared.  Just the same, I found out quite a few things about Barack Obama that scared me.

After the election, I stopped looking for more skeletons in Obama’ closet.  What is the point?  Isn’t what Obama wants to do bad enough?  That is why I concentrated my efforts on opposing Obama and the hate America first crowd that supports him.   However, if that is what it takes to convince someone that Obama is dangerous to our nation, I will happily investigate specific challenges to the list above.  It won’t be particularly difficult, and I have nothing to lose.   I would be mildly relieved I cannot verify at least some of the charges above.

There are, of course, other lists.  This one, A List of Things About Obama That Are Not Rumor, provides references.  Like my own post, it makes it quite clear some of the charges are true.

So what is the point?  What Conservatives need to remember is that we need to be conservative.  Before we repeat accusations, we need to verify the source and make certain it is credible.  We cannot assume a chain email, even if it sounds true, is true.

How are the Liberal Democrats responding?  Are they trying to verify the charges?  No.  When confronted with such charges, Liberal Democrats mostly whine about the meanness of the people who supposedly hate Obama and make stuff up.  Here are a couple of examples.

  1. JB says:

If you were honest, you would have changed the the title of your rant to “WHY WHITES OF OUR NATION ARE SLOWLY GROWING MORE AND MORE ALARMED” because the issue at hand is with ALARMED Whites who are afraid of modifying the status quo.

    • Citizen Tom, perhaps your true agenda is sedition. Thus far I have read your recent publications as a small part of my desire to assess and evaluate the relevance and influence of ‘Citizen Media.’ You are either very confused or a crafty member of a subversive organization intent on destroying this nation. In a preface or introduction to the nefarious propaganda you attempt to distance your self from the malevolent and mendacious comments in the alleged ‘email.’ However, you support this disinformation by claiming the author is “someone I regard as serious and level-headed.” If that is your assessment of an individual capable of such malice and complete disregard for truth and personal responsibility, then I grieve for you. Try this bit of simple logic, you and many neo-cons still claim the media is perpetrating some left wing ideology on the helpless masses (people you regard incapable of digesting the news and making up their own minds without the help of the ‘keepers of truth, justice, and the American way’ uh…like your self) that will conclude with a socialist coup of our government. Add to this fatally flawed premise, the disposal of small newspapers and other individual or family owned media outlets, by the large, usually multi-national corporations, leaving four or five ‘maximized profit’ driven corporate beneficiaries of our market based economy to control their old nemesis – the media. Even you cite the role of corporations but I want you to pay attention to this error in reasoning you embrace. It is irrational, unsophisticated, and foolish to assert that these same corporations are directing their executives and professional staff to shape their information dissemination to achieve socialistic goals. Do you even now think these bastions of capitalism would produce media that would, by definition lead to their demise? Of course not. I am glad we cleared that one up. In the market, entities act in self interest, not in deference to others. Consequently, corporations love stooges who willing rant and rave at the notion of a socialist conspiracy. If such a threat existed in this administration, the previously ‘liberal media’ would love this antithesis of Bush. Stop, listen, and honestly live up to your chosen moniker. Don’t continue to be ‘played’ by the big boys.

  3. Old Fashion Liberal says:

It is funny how some people respond to inflammatory rhetoric. They are so ready to let their knees jerk, they cannot finish reading the entire post.

When we do not take time to think, our own words indict us of idiocy. Consider these two examples. JB proves his own racism by racing to call another racist. Fightmaster proves his own foolishness by offering plenty of advice about something he obviously did not finish reading.

    • And unfortunately, you employ the anti-race card in the way which you accuse me of doing. I did read the entire post and I do know more than you. One has to understand rhetoric and philosophy, but most importantly the difference in their goals. America is in more danger of losing individual freedom from the right than from the left. Communism is not a feasible economic model, but capitalism is depending on the ideology on which it is predicated. Fascism is more likely to thwart liberty and individual rights than a proven flawed model like communism. It (fascism) uses ‘nationalism’ and fear to convince ordinary people to surrender their rights so they can be protected from totalitarian initiatives; but once surrendered, game over.

  4. Capri says:

Well said Old Fashion Liberal, and Tom, both post and comment are excellent. It’s long past time the non-left stop passing on chain letters. And in the mean time, let’s call out the far left’s abusive language via the race card and vulgarities for what they are, leftist chain letters. For all their griping about “rightwing” propaganda chains, they are guilty of the very same thing, the only difference is no one is calling it chain letters when it comes from the left side of the aisle. But it is, because the race-card people all say the same thing when they can’t come up with a real argument to back up their anti-moderate or anti-right position. The leftists have just as many “talking points” they use on the net as the far right. It would be all too easy to copy and paste a lot of their vitrial into one file and make it go viral as was done to a series of Peter Fleckenstein’s tweets, resulting in his being accused of originating a far right chain letter to this day. I’m linking to your entry on one of my sites. And to those who howl “You’re a white racist!” every time some of us don’t genuflect and shout a rousing chorus of “Rah rah ‘Bama!” get a clue, get a brain, get a reality-check, get a grip, get a life and stop trying to bully others into submission to agreeing with you or shutting up! I don’t give a flying hot dart what color anyone’s skin is, I agree or disagree with people based on whether or not our idiologies are compatible. What a novel concept! Shame on anyone for bringing the race card into this at all!

  5. Citizen Tom says:

Old Fashion Liberal and Capri – Thank you for your support and your kind comments.

JB and W. M. Fightmaster – Thank you for visiting.

  6. Capri says:

You are welcome. Sheesh, Fightmaster really doesn’t see that the media is mostly airing leftwing propaganda? Unbelievable! I’ve seen ads promoting the global warming – uh, excuse me, “climate change” and “greenhouse gas” hoax, the “CO2 is killing us all!” hoax is still being supported via the mainstream media, and every food-cop agenda ad telling you to lose weight and eat your veggies and go easy on meat or dairy or anything else, is leftist. There are far more crime and drama shows that villify religious people as wingnuts than environmentalists. And no one ever airs ads on mainstream media that exposes PEta and HSUS and all their ilk as well as the eco movements for the human-haters they really are. And there is a concern, when news is supposed to be news, and the general public believes they are actually getting news and information, but propaganda does creep in, and in some cases, it runs the whole show.

  7. Citizen Tom says:

Capri – As strange as it sounds, I think what we are seeing in the news media these days is somewhat closer to what it was like 200 years ago. Thanks to the Internet, other voices are getting through.

200 years ago, starting a newspaper, a pamphlet really, was a relatively small undertaking. Unfortunately, much of the news media consolidated into the hands of a small number of corporations. Moreover, Congress, because the airwaves are public, found a way to regulate the news by licensing radio and TV. Their efforts stifled the normal controversy and side-taking that journalists traditionally practice. Instead, the news media pretended to be objective (to keep their licenses). The government’s formation and funding of PBS and NPR further compounded the problem.

Where else do we become informed? We attend educational institutions. Unfortunately, our government runs the public education system and most colleges and universities. That is why from an early age we learn to be comfortable with socialist institutions and so easily accept bureaucratic secularism.

Thus, the behavior that Fightmaster exhibits should be no surprise. What is surprising is the number of people who are starting to object to politicians, corporate execs, and unionized bureaucrats trying to stuff their brains and the brains of their children with nonsense. I pray more join us, but I forgive Fightmaster’s bias. He just doesn’t know any better.

    • What gets you is that I do understand you all to well. In this short time reading your posts I see that a device you employ is: ‘it is too bad you didn’t read all of my post.’ I read the entire post but this only validated my response. I suspect these rhetorical devices work for some, but you used the aforementioned one on another reply and it was equally meaningless. You object with ‘appeals to emotion’ and various other informal fallacies. You attempt to use my analysis as a personal attack. I don’t care about you personally one way or the other, but do not portray legitimate attacks on your reasoning as ad hominum. If this dereliction of responsibility to journalistic ethics continue, I will not cast my pearls here any longer. This is not a veiled threat, it is a promise.

      • Citizen Tom says:

        W. M. Fightmaster – You did not read the entire post and pointing that out is not an ad hominum attack. It is a simple observation that is easily verified.

If you want anyone to consider your comments pearls of wisdom, you are going to have to work harder. Comedy is, of course, easier.

        Thank you for visiting.

  8. Kaleokualoha says:

When Obama wrote a book and said he was mentored as a youth by Frank, (Frank Marshall Davis) an avowed Communist, people said, “It just doesn’t matter…”?

Perhaps you should do some fact checking on your own, because you are wrong on both points. Obama never said he was mentored by Frank. Davis was a closet communist, not an “avowed communist.” There is no evidence that Obama even knew of Davis’s CPUSA connection.

Although Obama’s book indicates “Frank” was a family friend who offered him advice on racial issues, Obama wrote that Davis “fell short” and his views were “incurable.” Obama did not even visit Davis for three years before going to college. Obama’s book, itself, proves that Obama did not consider Davis to be a “wise and trusted counselor,” which is the definition of “mentor.” By what creative definition can Davis be considered his “mentor”?

  9. Citizen Tom says:

Kaleokualoha – It seems you made the same mistake that W. M. Fightmaster made above. You did not finish reading my post. For example, you did not read this paragraph.

So what is the point? What Conservatives need to remember is that we need to be conservative. Before we repeat accusations, we need to verify the source and make certain it is credible. We cannot assume a chain email, even if it sounds true, is true.

What is Obama’s relationship with Obama. It is hard to say. In my own post on Obama, I made this comment prior to his election, PRESIDENTIAL PROS AND CONS: BARACK OBAMA — Updated 26 Oct 2008, I made this comment.

In addition, I do not like Obama’s associates. In the last section of this post, Personal Life, I discuss Barack Obama associations. While I do not believe in guilt by association, it makes me extremely nervous when a politician must so often disown so many people and organizations he has formerly praised.

Even if I just rely on on your own words, it would seem Davis is in the same category as many other friends of Obama, thrown under the bus.

Was Davis a mentor of Obama? I cannot be certain, but some are, Obama’s Communist Mentor. Nonetheless, that “evidence” is many years old.

What concerns me more is what Obama has been doing and supporting this last year. Without a doubt, President Obama and Democratic Party are pursuing a socialist agenda. If their agenda is not communist, it is close enough that we should be all be fighting it. Why would we want government officials making decisions we should rightfully be making for ourselves?

Do you want to be reduced to serfdom? I doubt it. Yet here you are complaining in defense of a man who will not keep his oath of office to support and defend the Constitution. That is not very smart.

  10. Kaleokualoha says:

“Socialism” seems to be a rather ambiguous word, whereas “communism” unquestionably means total collectivism and the absence of free enterprise. “Socialist” can mean any point of the mixed economy spectrum between laissez faire capitalism and communism. To say someone is “socialist” means little other than indicating they are at neither extreme.

What is a “socialist agenda”? Moving to another point on the mixed economy spectrum or something else?

  11. Kaleokualoha says:

I must commend you for this position:

In my continuing campaign to fight AIM’s disinformation campaign against Frank Marshall Davis, i am still amazed at the willingness of bloggers to repeat and even amplify falsehoods they get from others, in a virtual game of gossip. In contrast to most of those websites,

Thus AIM’s initial falsehoods about Davis are like “Curveball’s” initial falsehood about Iraqi mobile weapons labs. The Intelligence Community rejected Curveball’s fabricated claims just as mainstream media rejected AIM’s fabricated claims about Davis. Empirical evidence proved the Iraqi threat was misrepresented, just empirical evidence proves AIM’s claims were fabricated.

Kaleokualoha – It is apparent you did not bother to read my post. You were more interested in copying and pasting a comment you had already put elsewhere. So please refrain from suggesting that I am somehow responsible for your confusion.

As I also said in the post above, I have no real interest in becoming an expert on all of the nefarious accusations against President Obama. I found enough of them true satisfy myself we had no business electing that man to high office. Nevertheless, we did elect the rascal. Now the best I/we can do is help minimize the damage.

If you have personal reasons for defending Frank Marshall Davis from his association with President Obama, you have my sincere sympathy. Obama is most certainly a shady character. Undoubtedly some innocents have and will suffer from their associations with him. Unfortunately, my immediate has to be the damage Obama is doing to the reputation and financial health of our entire nation, not one man I know little to nothing about.

  12. Citizen Tom says:

Kaleokualoha – Now you are playing with words. Can we just agree to use the term socialism as it is defined in the dictionary?

We have property rights in this nation. We also have Constitutional government that limits our government’s powers to interfere with our property rights and our lives. When our leaders practice socialism, they have to violate our Constitutional rights, including our property rights. When our leaders violate the Constitution, that is extremely dishonest, and it is stupid of us to let them get away with it.

In practice, our socialist leaders (such as President Obama)are busybodies. They make grand promises they cannot possibly hope to fulfill, but the attempt to fulfill their wretched promises allows them to seize enormous powers. And all they have to do is what communists do, find someone to blame (an enemy of the state) for their inevitable failures. That is, that is all they have to do if we are sufficiently hate-filled. Our first priority should always be protecting each other’s rights, but some would rather find someone else to blame and hate.

  14. Kaleokualoha says:

When we use “socialism” defined in this manner, some pundits claim that not only Obama, but also Bush and McCain are “socialist,” not to mention European countries. Newsweek even had a cover story “We Are All Socialists Now,” or something to that effect. This is ambiguity.

I don’t like Obama because he’s too friendly with the animal welfare/rights extremists. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cass_Sunstein

  16. Capri says:

Well, to get you started, http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Cass+Sunstein+animal+rights&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&aq=f&oq=

and eco/animal activism has misanthropy at its core. It also has a firm grasp on the media, and with disasterous consequences most people don’t even see as such. The media never reports on a good human/animal relationship unless it’s something like a disabled person and their dog, or someone “adopting” five homeless legless one-eyed puppies *rolling eyes* “Adoption” is for children, not animals, and anything they can anthropomorphize to make it sounds like the animals are more human. Any negative stories are always about exotic pets – tiger attacks, or large breed dog attacks – pitbulls etc. And when it’s wild animals attacking, the humans never blame the bear or cougar, and instead they go into this stupid snivel about how it’s our faults for “encroaching” on their land – puhleeeze! But the media never approached me, wanting to do a piece on how me and my sugar glider Mia made things a little brighter at the care center I visit every month to give them a little entertainment. http://MiaRascal.pbworks.com So every time there’s a tiger scare story or something about a big dog attack, everybody gets manipulated into clammering for bans on animal ownership of large breed dogs and exotic animals, and nobody ever hears about the vast majority of the success stories with these animals in private ownership on TV. And once creeping pet bans and bills get let in, that’s never the end of them. First it’s the largest animals and birds, then it goes to the smaller exotic animals and if the hard-core animal rights including “rescues” had their way, no one would be allowed to own any animal except them. http://AnimalWelfareCruelty.pbworks.com

  17. Mike says:

Holy Moly! That was a lot of banter!

Sorry to do it but I’ve got to add my two cents – President Obama can only sign bills into laws that are produced by the legislative branch. Right? So the problem isn’t completely with President Obama. Although I disagree with many of his ‘CZAR’ picks. The problem is the lack of ‘checks and balances.’ The problem is that we have both a president who rings a dinner bell AND a democrat congress who then starts to drool. When there is a majority without internal disagreement that is a problem. The same would be the case if it were the republicans with a president and a majority in the house and the senate. Except in the case of President Bush who was not near as universally likeable (in speech and manner)as President Obama. Let’s face it, President Obama could sell Ice to Eskimos.

If you look at the history of the two main political parties, they have changed direction with the wind. The democrats used to be more conservative than the republicans. My grandfather was a staunch conservative southern farmer and a card carrying member of the democrat party. He was proud to be that. Well as the wind shifted so did the democrats shift left while the republicans pretty much stayed were they are now (except under the Reagan years). So if these two parties are constantly shifting is the problem really with the democrats and republicans. I say no. The problem is with the two party system as a whole. When you have only two paths of thought you are politically allowed to follow, do you think any good ideas will come out of the legislative branch. What happened to free thinking? Oh sorry was that politically incorrect?

Yeah you can argue that we have other parties that show up on the ballot – The Green Party, the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party, even the Socialist Party. But can you tell me when was the last time you’ve seen any of those parties in a televised national debate? Come on! Bring in some fresh ideas and some new energized people. From my opinion, that is where our country’s political system falls short. The average citizen of the United States is far better at brain storming and problem solving than any canned republican or democrat could ever hope to be. Why? Because we live and work in the trenches and not in some ivory tower looking down on the rest of us. Lets inject some common sense back in to politics and open our minds to other ideas rather than walking around with political party bags over our heads!

Yes. Just because I completely reject the misanthropic ideas of “human caused climate change” and animal rights which are more associated with the left than the right, doesn’t mean I embrace all the right-wing and far-right politics, and that’s why I’m about to jump ship from yet another internet community that has pretty much outgrown its usefulness and become less about animal owners’ rights and more about anti-Obama everything, and a big hot anti-abortionist hangout. Well, it’s egregious accusing the human race of massive evil, and making false accusations of animal abuse and ruining people’s lives as a result, causing innocent people to suffer. It’s just as egregious to yell “Baby killer!” and accuse everybody who has ever had an abortion of being Susan Smith.

Capri – I wasn’t actually replying to your post. I was in fact replying to the entire converstation. I may not completely agree with everything you say but I DO appreciate you opinion. That appreciation of other ideas is what seperates people like you and I from the broken politicians. By the way I hope by reading my reply you didn’t think that I was anti-Obama anything. He is welcome to his ideas as well. The biggest problem I have with any politician is when he is elected under a false pretense. In other words if he promises that free undercoating on your shiny new car, it better not show up in the loan.

    Cheers to a great 2010.

Capri and Mike – Interesting comments.

One of the reasons with have a two-party system is that Democrats and Republicans have connived to freeze others out. To see what I mean, you may wish to check out DISDAIN FOR DEMOCRACY and its links.

Some times what the electorate perceives as a good idea, like primary elections, has unforseen consequences. That is one reason why that government which governs least governs best.

Happy new year to you too, Mike. I didn’t take your comment as directed at my posts, but it was one I find myself agreeing with, and I just needed to vent a little about my frustration with the complete polarization everywhere I go. It seems no one on the republican side of things is really listening or understanding what I’m trying to say about what they are doing to hurt themselves and others as well. I’m no Obama supporter, but I’ll be among the first to debunk and warn against the spreading of any and all right-wing chain letters because of what they are, and how they are doing more to discredit people than actually help. I’m feeling pretty sore at all the far-right extremism and occasional chain letters being promoted on the pro-animal ownership list I’m wanting to break from, yet I’m torn about doing so. I think it’s coming though, and well, that just stinks. It was a good community for a long time, but now with all the rhetoric and talk of “pet nazis” and I am opposed to throwing that word around yet no one seems interested in listening to me about that either. I definitely don’t belong in the communities that oppose the far right either, because they are left, and they embrace ideas I also reject. It’s difficult being in the middle of the spctrum, more right than left, but rejecting ideas on both sides, and no one really cares about you unless you chant all the right party lines right along with them, and I just won’t do that. I haven’t seen birther stuff on that community yet, but if I do, that’ll be it, I’ll be out of there. If they’d wanted to stay in touch with me, they would’ve joined the one I set up that doesn’t cater to far right politics or pander to the left. Just feeling a little out of sorts about it all. You just gave me an opening to vent about it a little. :)
