The New York Times, of course, confirms the sinister nature of this recording (here). 
Where people cannot argue with the facts, but they still earnestly want to believe, they blame the messenger. That sort of blaming is called an Ad Hominem attack. If you feel the need to do such a thing, please listen to the video again.
