TOWN HALL MEETING WITH GAINESVILLE DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DON RICHARDSON

school.pngI have linked to ANTIBVBL’s coverage of the subject meeting (here), but it’s importance should be emphasized.  Inside NOVA also provided an announcement.

If you haven’t heard the news, Gainesville District School Board member Don Richardson will hold a Town Hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at Battlefield High School in the school’s mini-theater on Feb. 10. If schools are closed, the meeting will be held Feb. 12.  (from here)

Undoubtedly the subject of Math Investigations will come up.  However, Richardson expects to talk about other stuff as well.  If you intend to attend Richardson’s meeting, I suggest reading the Inside NOVA article.

  1. PWC Parent says:

FYI – It was just announced today that the PWC School Board is holding another Work Session on this same evening to discuss allowing parents to opt-in to use the old Scott Foresman Math textbooks. Times seem to conflict with Mr Richardson’s town hall meeting on Feb 10th.

  2. Don Richardson says:

The worksession was scheduled AFTER my Town Hall meeting had been scheduled and extensively publicized. I have arranged to move the Town Hall meeting to the Snow Date (Thurs Feb 12th), 7 to 9 PM as before. I apologize to anyone who is inconvenienced by the change, but given the interest in the Math program, I feel I have an obligation to be present at the worksession. (While it is not televised, a School Board worksession IS a public meeting and folks are welcome to come watch and listen.)
