THE THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM: MCCAIN COMES THROUGH; UPDATE

elephantgop.pngNo doubt millions watched the debate tonight.  No doubt millions of Barack Obama’s supporters suddenly found themselves wondering why they support that man.  Just as Obama had demanded, John McCain called the man a liar to his face.  And Obama, always before the eloquent and smooth conman, had no good answer.

Against all expectations, John McCain finally found his voice this evening.  As unlikely as it might seem, the most liberal of news networks, CBS, provided a neutral moderator, Bob Schieffer.  Schieffer encouraged both candidates to clearly address the issues of the day and to question each other directly.

Finally given a real opportunity, McCain forcefully advocated his positions.  Moreover, he made it clear that Obama advocates a huge and unsupportable expansion of government.

No matter how anyone tries to spin it, McCain clearly did well this evening.  I say he won.  Yet I have little doubt much of the news media will try to spin it otherwise over the next several weeks.  So I have included links (Here is the complete transcript, and here is a link to the complete video.).  Whenever you or I begin to doubt what our eyes saw and our ears heard, we can always go back and listen again.

Folks, we are now in the final days of the 2008 election campaign.  The Republican Party has good men and women running to represent the people of Prince William County.  These candidates will fight to maintain our republican (Note the little “r”.) form of government.  Instead of nationalizing our economy, these men and women will let us run our own lives, but they need our help.  If you want to help them, please contact the Prince William County Republican Committee.

An election is a time we make a choice.  This time the choice is altogether too clear.  Will you choose socialism?  Will you choose to spend away your freedom?  Or will you fight to give your children a country as good or better than the one your parents gave you?

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?  DO YOU AGREE?

See this post (HAVE WE BEEN ACORNED?) for an analysis of the poll results.

By the way, in moment of unintended brilliance (better to be lucky than good), Senator McCain gave Obama a most appropriate new moniker, “Senator Government”.

Note also that Isophorone has the video on Joe Plummer (see here).  If you really want to understand what McCain was talking about, you really need to see this.

Tom, question on the online poll: because of the way it’s set up technologically, can people vote more than once? I’ve seen these things before on other sites and HAVE been able to vote more than once (wanted to see how valid the results were…..not trying to sway the system).

  2. Citizen Tom says:

kgotthardt – No system known to man is guaranteed to stop Democrats from voting more than once. The best we can do is to make it so difficult that number of fraudulent votes is negligible.

LOL! Come on, Tom. This isn’t exclusive to Dems or Repubs. Some people just like to mess with the Internet.

Like ACORN messes with fraudulent registrations by the thousands Kgotthardt. Then again many of us have known that for years. It is a party specific issue. Democrats have consistently screamed fraud yet when they do it is just a few overzealous followers. Oh the shame. 200000 potential fraudulent registrations in Ohio if not more. FBI is checking Nevada, Colorado, and Florida. They really should check Virginia as well since ACORN has been active in Virginia.

    Thanks for the shout out!

I believe John Fund of the Wall Street Journal came out with a book on vote fraud recently. WHile both parties have practiced it, the Dems definitely have a LOT more professional expertise in this area!

That “Senator Government” thing was a heck of a Freudian slip. LOL
