Now that the Democrats have identified their candidate for the 11th Congressional District (see here), the slate of candidates is complete. The General Election will now begin in earnest. The time has come when Republicans must rally.
No doubt many Conservative Republicans will look at the Republican slate in disgust. At best, John McCain is a “moderate” Republican. Jim Gilmore‘s lukewarm stance on the abortion issue will dishearten many. And many are probably still wondering: ”who is Keith Fimian?” Suffice to say, The Democratic Party seems to have the stronger ticket — except for one little detail. All those people want to run every detail of our lives in the worse possible way.
Life almost never presents us with an ideal choice. All we can do is make the best of the choices we have. We must remember that doing nothing is also a choice. We must remember the consequences of letting the Democrats win. Consider what happened after the Great Depression. In the elections that followed, the Democratic Party won big (see here). That is when the era of BIG GOVERNMENT began. Can we really afford any more of that? What kind of legacy do we want to leave our children, a socialist state?
