Marshall for Senate Inc. Marshall for Senate Inc.

Dear Virginia Voter,

I have been a state legislator for 17 years, winning nine elections in Northern Virginia, and I am running for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. I respectfully ask for your support.

I am the state delegate who brought the SUCCESSFUL lawsuit (Marshall v. NVTA) challenging the Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia unelected regional transportation taxing authorities, the only lawmaker who challenged the unconstitutional law and the only Republican who opposed HB3202 on the floor of the House of Delegates. (See You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqszbMKOGzA)

The Virginia Supreme Court struck down these bodies and taxes they imposed in a 7-0 unprecedented decision, a victory for taxpayers and constitutional government.

I have consistently opposed all tax increases. I am 100% pro-life, pro-second amendment, and the author of the Marriage Amendment, the ban on partial birth abortion, the prohibition on high school athletes using steroids, a ban on tractor trailers using the left lanes on 3+ lane interstates, and the new Virginia Immigration Commission. I co-patroned a resolution asking Congress to either repeal or amend the Real I.D. Act to guarantee individual liberties or to exempt Virginia from its application.

To win the Republican nomination, I must have “delegates” willing to attend the Republican Nominating Convention in Richmond on May 31. But to vote at this Convention (takes place of a primary) you must first attend a local Republican Meeting.

Several of these meetings have registration deadlines in the next few days. I apologize for this late notice, but please find your County below, download the registration form if there is one, check the box that you want to be a “Delegate to the State Convention,” (keep a file copy) and return form to person indicated. All fees are voluntary.

Remember, if you do not register by the deadline, you cannot vote at the State Convention in Richmond. Please scroll down to find your county.

Here is what the Washington Post’s Marc Fisher wrote on March 4, 2008:

“Virginia Delegate Bob Marshall, the Republican from Prince William County who is one of the last great crusaders in the General Assembly, follows his conscience, no matter how unpopular or inconvenient the results… “

Please spread the word around the state by sharing my website address: http://bobmarshall2008.com for my positions on issues, convention instructions, and downloadable registration forms. Thank you.
