Abstinence Education

school.pngA new study supposedly shows abstinence education does not work (here). Maybe it does, but I doubt the accuracy of statistical studies of this sort. Even when such studies are well done — and such a study is difficult to do well — drawing conclusions is risky.

Whatever the study purports to show, I still support abstinence education over sex education; however, I do not trust the public school system to implement either program well.

Waldo has a post on this subject on his blog (here). If you want to get a balanced perspective on the report, it is worth reading both the AP article Waldo references as well as the Washington Times article I reference.

I also left a comment at Waldo’s post (here). You may find that an interesting read as well.

One other thing.  Inspired by the controversy over the expression “Democrat Party,” Waldo has a new anti-spam query.  It is funny.
